I think the citizens of Finland will regret the decision joining NATO. It will cost them economically. Because they share a border with Russia they will have to spend a large amount of their GDP on the military and the border. The Fins will need to sacrifice some of their Social Programs in order to do this.

@@svenandersson284 just simple economics. Only so much of the GDP pie to go around. Finland’s standard of living will suffer. Finland can’t print money and have the rest of the world subsidized their economy like the U.S. can. Owing to the dollar being the world reserve currency and used for all trades.

You are talking out of your arse NATO has kept the peace since WW 2 ended. Constant threats of a nuclear war has now triggered the largest NATO exercise since the end of the Cold War. The more the Russians threaten to use Nukes the more aid the west will send to Ukraine plus the greater the likelihood that NATO will use those threats to unleash a first strike with nuclear weapons that actually work and have not had parts removed and sold by corrupt officials.

Ha! Europe is building walls again. The good old Cold War times are back. And I thought Europe stood for peace, "Alle Menschen werden Brüder"?

Nothing if not consistent: Finland, for all its pretensions of freedom, often embodied in Sibelius' wonderful music, allied with Hitler's Germany during WWII and aided the Wehrmacht during the Leningrad siege. Legacy tribal hatreds are flashpoints for war; this idiocy, so prone to technological malfunction, is no exception.
