I'm impressed that the Russians still employ and continually develop not only airborne paratroop drops but mechanized paratroop drops as well. The US has virtually abandoned mechanized paratroop drops and only rely on infantry parachute drops and even that is slowly disappearing from their military doctrine.

У нас очень большая страна Протяженная граница и много соседей. Десант это способ быстро закрыть какое то направление . Применять это в наступательной войне - очень сомнительное дело
