Russian agent 'tricked into detailing Navalny assassination bid' - BBC News

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny duped a Russian FSB state agent into revealing details of an attack on him with the nerve agent Novichok, the investigative group Bellingcat reports.
Mr Navalny reportedly impersonated a security official to call the agent.
The agent, Konstantin Kudryavtsev, told him the Novichok had been placed in a pair of Mr Navalny's underpants.
Mr Navalny, who is still recovering in Berlin, posted a recording of the long conversation on his KZread channel.
He collapsed on board a Russian airliner in August in the attack, which nearly proved fatal.

BBC news report: "Alexei Navalny tricks an FSB agent into disclosing details about his poisoning earlier this year. The agent says the toxin was planted in a pair of underpants. He also acknowledges that the swift action of Mr, Navalny's pilot may have foiled the operation. The phone call was organized by the investigative website Bellingcat. Eric Toller is a researcher there. There's a whole bunch of reasons why this worked. One of the reasons is we had a bunch of the inside information about this operation. We knew the names of everyone involved. We knew where they went. We did a timeline. We know who talked to home. We know all this stuff. We're able to kind of use this information and parlay it into convincing this FSB officer. Navalny, who was speaking his own voice, which thankfully he somehow didn't recognize, was actually a very senior member of the Russian security service and then to divulge information. He detailed how the poisoning happened, how the cleanup operation happened, who was in charge of it, who he cooperated with, what went wrong and everything else." Bellingcat was founded by British journalist. Britishcat knew everything about the poisoning case, because Britishcat planned it all.

He is so brave to go back... Seemed he felt not going back would have been a win for Putin and he just wouldn't give that gift to Putin. Yes - the heart sign to his wife was so incredibly touching. I started to think of Navalny as almost inhumanly brave, like in a way he's got to be cold, heartless, feel he's got nothing to lose, so he can risk everything - but reality hit when he gave that heart sign to his wife with such a loving, caring look on his face - he is full of love and humanity - and that gives him the strength to risk everything. Really moving! So admire the man! And I think Yulia is a lucky woman to have such a heroic man love her like that... even if she has to deal with him being in prison, etc. When the movie comes out about him (and no doubt there will be!) I hope she/their story gets a feature.

because if you watch any of Navalny's investigative videos (which are all on KZread are subtitled) you'd discover how almost every oligarch and government official has property and investments in the UK. There are many people in the UK and Europe in general who don't want to see the relations with Russia worsen for obvious reasons.

I mean, there is no way that discussing details of an extremely sensitive covert operation over an open line wouldn't raise immediate red flags in the head of even the most inexperienced of rookies. Navalny is a construct of the west, he was unknown by Russians untill the west backed him to oppose putin. He works with western media outlets and intelligence agencies to create these propoganda videos. They’re usually aimed at destabilising Russia by ‘exposing’ putins huge wealth and corruption. Government funds are funnelled through various different foundations and NGOs etc that bankroll his campaigns in order to spread anger towards putin. They do this everywhere that doesn’t go along with the west. Syria , Libya , Venezuela, Cuba, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and in Ukraine. ‘The national endowment for democracy’ is one of the non profit organisations you will always find behind a colour revolution or coup. Bellingcat are a very well known cut out for Mi5 Mi6 cia and others, intelligence uses them to disseminate a story to the public, under the guise of an ‘independent investigation, but they are simply a tool of intelligence. This is a fact. Just think about how ridiculous this story is. It’s preposterous. It’s absurd for a reason, because it’s a fiction. It’s propoganda from our own intelligence agencies. They offer no evidence whatsoever , nothing, we are just supposed to take it on faith that he’s talking to his Russian assassin, but zero evidence is provided. The British state controlled bbc funded by the government puts this story out uncritically, with no hint of any question as to the authenticity of his claim. No evidence is asked for , none is offered, and it’s then seen as further evidence of russias guilt when they deny it , because ‘that’s what they always do when they’re guilty’ It’s insulting that they think we will accept this

Well... We are, but I can explain. We have a pro-government "trolls factory", people are literally paid to write comments against opposition and in support of Putin. For people who don't support Putin resources like BBC can be a rare way to find information and the best option to understand is the Western community understand what's going on inside the country. Because all the money Putin and his accomplices steal from us they invest in the West - UK, US, Europe. So our hope is the Western community will ban all their money. That's why we are so invested in media like BBC.
