The more prestigious the car is for the executive class, the more often it is more square... This is not bad, but I have seen concepts for example of the GAZ "Volga" (a Soviet car of a more or less prestigious class). And so, in the concept, it combined both antiquity, features of past models and modernity. I think Russia should have followed this path rather than taking forms and allusions to Rolls-Royce, Chrysler and Bentley.

There is even better Aurus model - Kommendant. It's a big luxury SUV which looks both practical, intimidating and gorgeous.

They produce, in fact. I like Gorkiy Automotive Plant mini buses. The same Gazelle series as city trucks. First trucks design I really like, all previous generations were just ugly and broken. I can say the same about Autovaz Lada Niva Travel (ex-Chevrolet Niva), Lada Xray and Lada Vesta, really nice design. Anyway, tech is not of 21 century. Weak engines, no automatic gearbox, no security devices. I worked for European steel industry to implement foreign automotive components production in Russia 2008-2015. Its called state automotive localization programm. I have done my job well. Pity they all stopped production in 2023.

Bravo to the Russian automotive industry. All countries wanting to show there potential should do similar, create there own presidential car, obviously this will only be possible for, I guess, some 15 countries in the world. I hope they'll do well and sell a lot for there segment.

Very impressive interior. It has a unique… enough, boot (rear end/trunk). I think, however… the ‘far too close’ and ‘clearly influenced’ (though not copied) … Rolls Royce grill, looks a little out of place. And those Rolls Royce inspired headlamps don’t help. But nothing looks like it on the inside. Thanks for the video.

Historically, Soviet government cars copied the design of Western executive class cars such as Bentleys, Rolls-Royce, since they were the trendsetters and were considered classics. Today, the design of the radiator grille of the Aurus car can be called a continuation of the style of previous government cars of the USSR rather than a direct copy of the Rolls-Royce grille. Moreover, Rolls Royce ordered us to live for a long time and perhaps in many years we will remember the influence of its classic design only by looking at the radiator grille of the Aurus car.

Just like it did the last year, and the year before that, and in 2020 as well. 2024 is expected to continue the tradition of breaking the previous year's sales records. The company is more successful than it's ever been in it's 120 years of producing automobiles. They aren't going under anytime soon.

@trentson6965 I'm not particularly interested in cars, never was. 25 years ago I had an opportunity to buy a Rolls Royce. I drove it, didn't like it, and realized it was ridiculously impractical. We've had lots of cars over the years. I think the one I liked most was our 1966 Lincoln. We've had Lincolns, Caddys, many other makes and models. The only thing that ever came out of Russia that is of value to me was music, mathematics, science, engineering formulas, and beluga caviar.

Great. A nation that builds cars should not have its heads of state relying on imported cars for official events. It demoralizes its own industry and entrepreneurs. Russia needed something to carry on the legacy for the discontinued GAZ and ZIL cars from Soviet times. I like that it is very low key and not tacky. I don’t think it’s shaken anything. Where is the dealership and servicing setup? I actually DO think the Aurus range of vehicles is quite impressive in its stage presence- I also rather like them because they’re not RR- would I buy one? Not unless it was half the price of a RR. However I’d definitely have the convertible parade car… if I had the money to buy it as my 15th or 16th car.

As you said, no servicing, parts or support whatsoever, 2. it's essentially a prototype, and won't come close to Mercedes or RR in terms of reliability 3. it's a noname compared to RR or Bentley 4. FSB microphones included 5. no one outside of Russia would like to be identified with Russia, not even in China. Sales outside of Russia will be equal to exactly zero.

You are pronouncing the brand name incorrectly. The brand name comes from AURUM (which means gold in Latin) and RUS from RUSSIA, and the word AURUS comes out (there is no sound “O”, it is “A”, as in the word magazine) and together it is “Gold of Russia”, or "Russian Gold". The names of the models are "Senat", "Arsenal" and "Komendant" - after the names of the Kremlin towers, this is correct.

These cars are mechanical masterpieces with fit and finish that exceeds even Rolls Royce best. Obsession with perfection is the company's credo and we can look forward to seeing the bulk of world leaders acquiring Russian's flagship automobile.
