Actually every players stay okc for some years, the fans give them ovation, Harden got it, Paul George got it, Ibaka got it, Kanter got it, even DJ Agustin and Carmelo had some delight crowd to him (except KD xd) such an adorable atmosphere to let players to stay

Russ was an 8x All Star, 1x MVP, 2x All NBA First team performer, 2x scoring champ, 2x assists leader, a triple double machine. He spent 11 years of his career there. He was constantly a top 10-12 player for over a decade. So we should just throw all of that away???

Kevin Durant is going to cry when he sees this. Championships aren't everything, the NBA season is long, and Westbrook gave Oklahoma City a decade of fun basketball to watch. And honestly, I would rather have a decade of good TV than have the bragging rights that a team I watch won something. The last 10 years of OKC basketball have been incredibly crazy and full of more big names than 90% of teams will ever see. But hey, if you love rings more than you love basketball, maybe OKC and Russell Westbrook aren't your style. That's fine.

People who are "thunder fans" like Westbrook more than the thunder. That's probably the loudest it had been the whole year.

I hope by saying 'change my mind' you actually do possess an open mind on this matter. As a Thunder fan, indeed Russ is the one who made me a Thunder Fan, a basketball fan, really. When I first heard that Russ is leaving for Houston, I knew not what team I'm gonna root for now, but actually, after he leaves, I find myself always going outta my way to see how OKC was doing, whether or not Adams has grown, how other players develop now that Russ is gone. Indeed Russ built a culture when he was here, not necessarily a winning one, but one to never give up, he made Thunder what it is today, and he has done that so well, that even if he left, it will still be there.

EJABBALL nah it’s def KD. Russ had 4 elite seasons with them but when he was their best player they never won a playoff series. KD had 6-7 elite seasons and was the reason okc was a serious title contender from 2011-2016. Russ didn’t become asuperstar until around 2015

I was at the game and wow what an electric return. Awesome tribute video and amazing energy for Russ! Was glad I got to be apart of that!

I hope fans continue to thank players for their service even after they leave like we've seen this season. Players have a great appreciation for the fans and the communities they live in, but things don't always work out between themselves and the organisations.

Harden's playoff mode isn't bad ( not the best either) . I mean last year they played against gsw even without Durant there is no team winning curry klay green in that moment (before mentioning Raptors they may have lost with klay safe and sound). He had 2 very good games where he played like a real superstar. The year before he played with gsw with 4 all stars maybe the best team evee ever pushing them to 7 games and I also remember 40 point games. In 2016-17 he played against a healty san Antonio team who was legit and for me even better than the cavs in a 7 game series . I can't understand all that playoff hate for harden. There are stars who really choke in playoffs and they aren't even mentioned

So nobody's gonna talk about kd getting booed while Westbrook getting applaud?

My team was terrible last night. Except for Russ. He deserved better last night! I never seen a game thrown in the regular season like harden threw it. Disappointed. However, on to the next game.

That is plus-Minus not PER nobody's PER can be a negative # if you are going to put stats out to discredit someone atleast be accurate if his is only negative -13 but team lost by 21 he actually was positive compared to rest of the team

Russ had a great INDIVIDUAL game, but OKC had a great TEAM game...guess who lost by 21? Houston is not a good team. If James Harden doesn't score 40+ pts, they can't win games. Until guys like Russell Westbrook and James Harden figure out that they need to do OTHER things besides score a ton of points, Houston won't win any meaningful games come playoff time.
