Rushani is a Pamir language spoken in Afghanistan and Tajikistan, closely related to other Northern Pamiri languages like Shughni, Yazgulami, Sarikoli, and Oroshori, sharing many linguistic similarities. Some linguists consider it a dialect of Shughni. Rushani is primarily used informally, with children in the community learning it as their first language before transitioning to the country's official language once they start school. Adult speakers are typically bilingual or trilingual, also speaking Tajik and Russian. Historic ally, Rushani had no written form, but writing systems using Cyrillic and Latin scripts have been developed for the language.

As a Pashto speaker i can understand a large chunk of this language. Maybe 40-50%. However a lot of these words would be considered archaic and not currently used in modern Pashto. But you can also clearly see the cognates, such as “Tsarangat” and “mash”, they are the same as “Tsaranga” and “mozh” in Pashto. There are plenty more examples.
Another great video.
I hope to see a video about Shughni soon!
Iam indian and my mother language bengali (বাংলা) । rushani language beutiful language .😊😊😊❤❤india
Love the way this sounds. 🎉
As an Italian I can even recognise some common root word ie 😯
What a lovely language. I rather prefer it to the sound of Pashto.
This sounds majestic ngl. I would like to learn, any resource available for english speakers?
I love how indo-iranian languages in Central Asia have their numbers so different in relation to other Indo-European languages. It really shows how it is possible that certain unattested language families, like Altaic, Nostratic and Niger-Congo have so many proponents
Interestingly enough Earth is "Zemarth" in Rushani language which is of two cognate words. Zem (from slavic Zemlya) and Arth (from Germanic Earth/Erde). Another example is Star [en] - Sitora [persian] - Stern [de] - Sterz [rushani] (here S is pronounced like Ich in german).

I can see some Persian influence in vocabulary.
There're visible similarities between Rushani and Persian, Arabic and Russian.
Lol my name is Rushan (я Рушан и я конкретно офигел)😂
It also has a Cyrillic alphabet
While most of the cognates were standard and expected, and much of it was alien, surprised about the word for colour bluem
Sounds like little bit Sanskrit
Interesting to see front rounded vowels in a language of of the Indo-Aryan . branch of Indo-Eurpean !
