I'm a year off 60 and I've been a music fan for my entire adult life. Most people don't understand how precious music is. I wasn't even allowed to listen to anything not song in Church until I turned into a rebellious teenager. Then I listened to whatever the fuck I wanted;. Rush influenced me and everyone I cared to know, Alex and Geddy are two of the best guitarists I have ever seen/heard. I didn't know Taylor at all, but if Dave Grohl left the percussion to someone else, he must have been a beast.

I hope Geddy and Alex continue to play with guest drummers to help the music live on. Don't get me wrong, Neil is the best drummer ever in my mind because to me, drumming is athletic and a precision science. There are amazing drummers that can add artistry to the instrument in different ways. Dave is one of them. He has flair and a way to play behind the beat that adds to the music like few, if no one else, can do. They aren't in competition. It's different.

This was not just a tribute to Taylor but to Neil too. To see Danny sit in Neil’s place was more than a tribute, I’m sure it was an honor for Danny. Neil was a hero for him. Danny and Neil played together years ago. Just to watch that video of them together, I knew that the torch had been passed from “the professor” to the student. I give props to Dave and Chad and Taylor as they are true drummers, through and through. But as for Neil and Danny, they are percussionists and are tops in their craft and very very few like them. Use of different instruments and time signatures are like no other. RIP Taylor and The Professor

But remember, Neil isn't the original drummer on this tune. I think this is one of the only Rush songs that a drummer can play and not worry so much about trying to duplicate it. I've heard so many Rush covers where it kind of gets "lost in translation". So in that respect, I think Chad to a marvelous job. I think he was the best of them all in both tribute concerts, and I think all of them are top notch drummers.

What a fitting tribute to Taylor...Getting a band he absolutely adored to play for him ...Thanks Dave for bringing all of them together..This was epic and Danny Carey (the closest to Neil in terms of the technical excellence ) absolutely killed it ..

The way they did this lineup is impeccable. And the fact that Dave could even make it through one song bearing the burden of two passed drummers.. much respect. Danny though.. is the rightful heir to Neil’s throne, should Rush choose to continue. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Holy crap Rush's back! Never thought I'd see this!! Obviously no one can replace Neal Piert but Dave Grohl, Chad Smith and Dany killed it here! Neil was so good it takes several drummers to actually complete a full concert!

"Neil Peart, in my opinion, was the greatest drummer in history. Simply a virtuoso, an extraterrestrial, a unique being, and a precision machine with endless imagination for rhythm composition and execution. You will always be my ultimate idol throughout my life. Greetings from a drummer who knew how to admire a rhythm legend."

Rush are my literal heroes. I was devastated when Neil passed. I love the outpouring of love from musicians and fans alike. It's also heartwarming when you see elite musicians being fans as well. Edit to add: That screaming lady is my spirit animal 14:48 😭
