Rush - Time Stand Still (Bass cover with tabs)

Музыка

Tabs are just an aproximation fot my playing, I like to double some notes here and there, it depends on the moment. So use it just as a guide but try to put your own ideas in between.
Check the bass and drums collab for this song on my channel!

    What a cover dude! You nailed every fill perfectly. 80's Rush have some of the best bass lines from Geddy IMO. This song is a great example.

    Really appreciated!!! And totally agree with you! Teddy has a very unique way to write basslines!

    It makes my heart happy to see young people enjoying these great artists! Superb bass playing! I hope Geddy see this video...it would make him smile. Geddy, Flea, and Les Claypool are my top three bassists of all time. Who are your favorites?

    Thank you for your kind words!!! Geddy is by far my all time fav! Les and Flea are definitely in my top 10! (but I never really got into slap haha) I love the Rhythms of Justin Chancellor and the aggressive playing (and attitude) of Lemmy. I just finished to set up my little room and I'll be posting more songs in the upcoming weeks so your words are a "very well timed" extra motivation :D.

    @@7empestCL Cool! Yeah..Lemony was a bass monster. If you like Rush..I just discovered YYNOT a few weeks ago. The bassist plays a lot like Geddy. Geddy will always hold a special place in my heart because it’s so rare to see someone that good, yet be so freaking humble. RUSH are in another level! I’ve never got into slapping techniques either. It’s fun, but some over kill it. Keep on rocking man! Some people love guitar, but I will always prefer bass!

    Lemmy…stinking autocorrect. I forgot about John Entwistle. Another great bassist. He changed the game with The Who. Way ahead of his time!

    Hahaha I always messed up with the autocorrect too, and totally agree about John Entwistle!! Bass players are game changing when they have that "special spark", and I'll check more YYNOT stuff (I just listened a few seconds of the first song that came up in Spotify and DEFINITELY sounds like Geddy's Rickenbacker! Haha)

    @@7empestCL I came across the bassist in KZread a couple of weeks ago when I was looking up Rush covers. He’s got the Clockwork Angels tone! That tone is insane! I think his name is Tim Starace.

    Any tips for starting out learning bass?

  • @7empestCL

    @7empestCL

    Yes! Take a bass, learn some songs that you like, hear A LOT of music, pay attention to details in your playing, learn some theory (it's always important to know WHAT you are playing and try to correlate it with theory), dive deep into bass players of your interest (by hearing a lot of music).And the most important: Have fun and Enjoy it!!! (Don't get too overwhelmed by theory! learning songs by ear, even easy ones, will help you to develope your ear, and you'll be more familiar with sounds and where to find them) And never forget that IT TAKES TIME!! (and a lot of patience and dedication 😊)
