As with ALL Rush songs, reading the lyrics along with the performance is an absolute *must.* Neil was an incredible word-smith who borrowed his themes from philosophy, mythology, and of course, personal experiences. Without much effort, you’ll find this song is about a quest for immortality, and the realization that it’s a curse. The old sating - be carful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Great reaction - you should check out: Rush: By-Tor & The Snow Dog (Lyrics) Don't watch the live version, because they cut half the song. The song is about the producer's two dogs: a German Shepherd nicknamed By-tor (biter) and a poodle nicknamed Snowdog - the song is about the two dogs playing in the snow. You can hear a representation of the Shepherd growling and the poodle yipping - it is hilarious. Neil Peart created an entirely new mythology with the lyrics of this song. kzread.info/dash/bejne/k2WqztprkcLHdKg.html

This is one of my favourite Rush live performances. And the sound quality is amazing for a fan recorded video from 1984. Not sure how a reaction video pans out for what is quite a bleak song from quite a bleak album. P/G is amazing though. It’s dry, post-police sound is still great. Between the Wheels is absolutely the album tour de force. Epic, huge and bleak. Almost the post apocalyptic world that DEW threatens. Even if you don’t react to this, Alex is on fire here. Burning. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eX1kpLluisevfNY.html
