This brings back so many memories of my early adulthood in southern ontario. The scene would be: A friend's apartment, great records like this, great turntable and speakers and receiver (that's back then lingo), some beer and a couple of joints. Man we had some good times and real music.

Bought a tape from a friend because the album cover intrigued me (GuP). It happened to be set to start side 2 (thank God)…..so my first experience of Rush was The Body Electric. I rewound THAT song no less than 20 times before evening moving on to the next track…….changed my life.

Rory, really enjoyed your journey through this album. Cannot wait for Power Windows, one of my favorite Rush albums! PW has some of my favorite guitar work by Alex, who said he really had to work to make his playing compliment the songs. For me, Alex achieves this, and so much more! Can't wait!

Came here to see if anyone else was going to comment on how great the next album is. Power Windows is definitely one of my favorite Rush albums. So much great music on it. Grace Under Pressure is a good album, but it's about middle of the road for me when it comes to Rush albums.

Let’s not wait another year for the next album. I absolutely love this era of Rush…and the later stuff…and early Rush. To be fair, I just love it all! ❤

I have enjoyed watching you fall in love and turn into a Rush fan before our eyes. I can’t wait until you react to the live albums. (Different stages by Rush).

Next album Power Windows is peak 80s synth usage from Rush, and it's one of their strongest albums. After that, they do forget how to rock for a few albums, but they fully figure it out again by Counterparts.

Man, I slept on Between the Wheels in my younger days. Love it now- those haunting synths and that solo from Alex. Wow.

There were definitely parts of funk and blues in this album. Enjoyed all of it, but at first listen it was quite a surprise - as many Rush albums were when they first came out it took a few listens to get used to them and to soak up the music and then also the lyrics.

Great Alex album. He wasn’t very pleased with his role on Signals so he made a point to be heard on this album. I feel like the side two has really grown on me quite a bit.

Unfortunately you will only find 1 dodgy video live of Red Lenses. Where Neil's drumkit failed to spin around so is playing the drums with his back to the audience. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ioGeqKiOetCZc7w.html

Kid Gloves - first verse golden rule = cool to be so tough. Second verse reverse the golden rule = tough to be so cool. Neil was so good with lyrics.

I don't think I ever heard him play Bop. Just remember that all good bugs like to Bop. My first roomie at college attributed that quote to Bill Bixby, but he was just making stuff up. Good times and good laughs. Good night... :)

The next album, Power windows, is absolute fire and the best of 80's Rush. Absolute fire from beginning to end. Along with Moving pictures and Permanent waves are my 3 favourite. Marathon and Middletown Dreams are absolutely magnificent pieces of music. Brilliant!!! Can't wait for you to react to it bro !!!!!!!!

As a drumming Rush fan since 1981 (when I was 13 years old), my two toughest songs to play with any sort of accuracy are “Marathon” and “Jacob’s Ladder”. If this makes any sense… I can play the studio version of Jacob’s Ladder “phonetically”… but that’s only because I’ve listened to it a million times. The original version was inspiring enough, but when you listen to Toronto 2015, it’s like WTH!!! Absolutely love these guys!

@@wphh7272 I discovered Rush when I was a 14 year old drummer with the Subdivision video while I was at a party which change my life ... In the year that followed I worked my ass off to learn the entire Signals album, then moving pictures and permanent waves to finally attack La villa strangiato. Rush got me into drumming and even now 35 years later I still find some of these songs challenging to play with with a fairly good level of accuracy and precision. I love to play everything between Permanent waves and presto. Of course I had to include an electric drum for the later stuff which is very hard to play like Power windows and Hold your fire but f**k me do I ever love to play me some Rush every now and then. RIP Neil Peart, my musical father !!!!!!
