    Yes, hard to believe they never trotted this or Kid Gloves out on tour again. Both killer tunes. Alex's chordal solos are beyond cool -- love the way the middle section gradually builds, till he finally digs in.

    Hoping this will happen when they reissue Grace in 2024. A full concert video would be awesome too. Ive heard the entire show was filmed.

    I believe his solo on "Red Sector A" is so spot on in capturing the somber haunting mood of the story/message of the lyrics . Coupled with his brilliant use of harmonics and tremelo....pure genius

    WoW! Never thought I'd see this song live. One of my all time fave Rush tunes and I'm a bassist to boot. Go figure. Alex's guitar work weaving chords and single note melodies together in the solo and throughout the song is nothing short of God like. Thanks for posting

    J’étais présent à ce concert à Montréal. WoW … près de 40 ans déjà… tout jeune … pas certain que dans l’excitation du spectacle que j’ai noté tous les détails de leurs performances. C’est vraiment cool de revoir le tout après tout ce temps…. Une famille de 3 enfants et plusieurs boulots plus tard. La voix de Geddy en effet était à son meilleur.

    Pedro Forastieri They've retired this song unfortunately. Sadly, 'Countdown' which is my favorite song from them was also retired after the Challenger disaster in 1986.

    preving "countdown" was retired a few years before the challenger disaster- They never played it again after the Signals tour. I don't think they thought it was a very good song and Neil wasn't happy with the lyrics

    I know I heard Alex Lifeson and Geddy say they retired it when Challenger blew up. You are right though..Rush didn't think it was a good song and Neil wasn't happy with the lyrics.

    it's a weird phenomena that only really happens with music and recorded videos of old performances... the video looks every bit of 35/36 years old and yet the song, despite certain stylistic elements doesn't really feel old or dated or comparable to what I'm looking at

    I was there.Best show I ever saw.Those guys recorded at Morin-Heights.The best studio in Canada and now it's empty and dying.There's even an old piano lonely and dying with the rest of the building.It's very sad.That studio made everyone proud in Quebec.Everyone new about a studio nestled in the Laurentian forest cause a lot big names recorded there;The Police,Bowie,Bee Gees,April Wine and of course Rush.Having one of the best recording console it shouldn't have to close.Now it is silent.

    I was there too. Everyone sat on their hands. You could have fallen asleep. Lifeson's guitar playing was great, but the audience was always subdued. Far from the best live experience.

    Man I wish I'd seen them on this tour. The songs from Signals and GuP sounded awesome live and this was absolutely bang on. I never knew Afterimage was ever played in concert.

    Just gotta say and agree with Northboy70 that the live versions of the grace under pressure album totally smoke the studio versions. Alex's guitar is so much more alive, angry even. The guitar work on Grace Under Pressure was superior to the muffled washed out signals sound. Every solo kicked Arse! Thanks boys for the great music, and thanks Femurs for posting these gems!

    such a powerful song: "and suddenly you were gone, from all the lives you've left your mark upon." One of my favorite (and saddest) Rush songs. Well, almost every Rush song is my favorite, but this just has a certain power to it that's hard to describe. 5 stars, and thanks for the upload :D

    Did anyone else notice how much Geddy does on this track? Vocals + bass lines on one keyboard and a synth background on a second keyboard…..the work of three ordinary musicians!

    I think alot of people that don't get Rush fail to understand their affinity for a bit of cinema in their music. Many times I find myself thinking about moments in movies that align with a lyrics or musical passage as I listen to their songs. Its something I wish would return in modern music.

    Great song live. When I saw Grace under Pressure late Nov.1984 in Providence, RI they didn't play this one. I was hoping when GUP was rereleased, this and other forgotten gems would be on the DVD. Maybe someday, thanks for posting

    @cjackdrummer Yes, that man's name was Robbie Whelan, Rush's assistant manager since Permanent Waves. In fact, in the liner notes of Grace Under Pressure, it says, "In memory of Robbie Whelan". About Ghost Rider, they played it only on the Vapor Trails tour. But that deals directly with what Neil was going through in the late 90s. So, if he can get through that... you never know!

    @spitfire71068 AHA Well, 10-4, 10-4. You are impressive for your research efforts. I can imagine how they may have juggled/shuffled the setlist(s) for this tour. I do recall by the time they made it to Vancouver (my first RUSH show, Front Row May 19 1984) the only song from P/G unplayed was Kid gloves. Interesting, cuz I never knew they did it live until I saw it online... : ) So I totally hear you on your memory and fact-checking. : ) PS- I have tons of new RUSH vids on my channel

    Rush played every song from this album on the tour which, if memory serves me correctly, was the only time they had done this. I love this album, but the live versions from the '84 tour smoke the album versions. I really wish these would have all been included on the Grace Under Pressure Tour video, which only showcases 3 songs from the album!

    They played the entirety of Hemispheres in 78/79 too, and all of the songs on Signals and Moving Pictures were played in their entirety as well.

    They played motion pictures in its entirety i believe on the 30th anniversary of the album. 2010? I can't remember they year but I remember being at the concert.

    @spitfire71068 On the TFE Tour I saw Al flip out over a volume situation (probably monitors)... He kept giving the "up" sign, then after the song was over took off his guitar and walked over and gave someone an ear full. We're all human! hehe... Glad I wasn't that monitor (or whoever got chewed out) guy!

    Notice that Geddy isn't even wearing his bass. Only two other songs (I can think of) that he does that for are Red Sector A, and Scars.

    @Cygnusx27 yes, amazing love band, best i have ever seen, and thru the 70's and 80's i saw a lot of bands, including moody blues, pink floyd, tull, zepellin and robin trower, Rush wins the contest in my mind as being the band that sounds as good live as on record, maybe better!!!

    That's how it is now. With Neil's first wife and daughter dead, it would be too hard for him to play this one. The day you see Rush play this song again, you will know that Neil has found peace with their deaths.

    There's a website where you can read about what Neil's doing now. He's remarried and has a baby daughter. He wrote "like" 5 books to self heal from the tragedy that happened about 10 years before that....Just Google his name....The year 1984 was "between Karmapa's". 1 of the 2 top choices was born, but the guy who's now the 17th Karmapa had not shown up. The other was a toddler that year.

    @RollTheFemers hey man this song was actaully written to a man who knew tha band and was in a car accident neil has a more emotional response to the song "Ghost Rider" and i think this osng would be more ressurected than Ghost rider due to neils tragedy
