I remember them arriving in their old lorry and camping by the drove road near Kilmore. They whitewashed our croft and tar sprayed the corrogated iron roof on the barn and byre. The women had clothes pegs, sewing needles, pots, kettles and pans! They also had wonderful paper flowers, which were SO real looking! I played with one of the girls, and had door steps for my tea! Mid to late 1950's. .....Tich.

Does anyone else remember the 'summer walkers' in real life? I remember the excitement each summer when Jockie and his family arrived on their horse-drawn cart each summer in Lochcarron (back in the 1960s and very early 1970s)

Bruce Guthro was the first famous person who made me cry when he died and he wasn't my first celebrity I liked a lot that died. 😭😭😭

The book that inspired it, Summer Walkers, is terrific, too. I love the book and was ridiculously happy when I found this beautiful Runrig song that captures its spirit so well
