Here's the video breaking down how the reactor works: • I turn Plastics into F...
I believe with the world wide crisis we are facing now, we require a world wide solution. And this is why I believe we need decentralized devices such as this Reactor. Think about it, even if there is just 1 reactor in every community, that will put a huge dent in plastic waste and pollution.
Due to this, I do not wish to make a singular specialized Reactor, once I master and complete this one, I want to make all different types, of all different scales and sizes.

Julian, something to note if it hasn't been covered before: microwaved carbon can form (very) small diamonds which are useful in industrial processes. Perhaps take a look at the leftover carbon under a microscope to see if your process achieves this as a byproduct.

Nah. It's more than just microwaves. Usually a ultra high pressure chamber filled with methane gas that's in a super critical state. All while the plasma ball is formed with about 6 times the power he's capable of using. To grow a diamond from a carbon seed. If he drew thsr much power. The transformer for his street would blow. 😂

I just watched your interview and this is so hopeful. You will be blowing up here without a doubt and I can finally trust where my plastic is going.
The fact this dude is only getting 5k views at the moment is beyond me. This is brilliant. I can’t imagine the amount of study that went into this. Hopefully they don’t buy this out and it gets to great use
Your brilliant dude honestly honored to witness this
Excellent work, Mr. Brown. I believe in you!!!
I just stumbled on your channel this looks so cool. For the carbon being ejected a funnel on the bottom would get it all out as it spins.
Glad someone was listening finally. Been talking about this type of reversion tech for years
amazing work shows so much promise for the future truly an Einstein of our generation
Yeah, I think a scoop around the carbon trap that keeps it from building up without interfering with the blades. Dude you're doing so good. I will be showing a video of my mk 1 design soon. Stay tuned.

Ofc some baffles is nice to direct the carbon somehow, but this reminds me of this Alfa Laval separator at my place. Its basically a spinning bowl with a water trap that will form a water ring when it spins. Oil cannot go past the water due to massive G forces favouring water to go outwards instead of oil. Anyways in the bowl is a liner. Just a thin sheet of stainless steel that conforms to the bowl. Other than separate water out of lube oil, it also sediments out particles with that massive G forces. So after a lot of muck has built up at the bowl, you lift the liner out to clean up easier. And the little bit of grime left on the bowl can be wiped with a cloth. Massively reduces manual labour of scraping the bowl clean from the muck. The liner can be brought out to clean in a more ergonomic setting. For parts in the pyrolyzer that doesnt touch the spinning auger thing, maybe have a liner thats just snug, but doesnt need to be welded to the vessel. Ofc, you could weld some baffles and walls to the thin liner to redirect the carbon to the hole. Thin sheet welding so might be challenging. So for a few batches, the carbon goes where it needs to, but after several batches, the cover can be removed to bring out the liner for manual cleaning. Reasonably efficient enough operation imo.
@de0509

Out of topic, but the bearings and balancing of that Alfa Laval is just chefs kiss. The thing takes several minutes to get to a few thousand rpm. And when you turn off, it takes a few minutes too to come to a stop. SKF deep groove ball bearings ftw.
Keep up the great work!
Sir , you don't need that much power , with this set up you need the plastic material to be in constant motion during microwave operation time (burning stage) to get maximum efficiency, after that if the power is not enough you can add more burning power. Instead of Ice you can use a chiller ( cold water ( water cooling system low cost) good job, good project that needs more improvement to be profitable. Note: you can install microwave from the other side this ( one microwave in front of the other ) this way you will hit the plastic material from 2 sides with waves with out the need to rotate the plastic material ( I suggested rotation at the beginning) or every 30° on 1 section you can install 1 microwave this way in 1 section you will hot the plastic material from 3 sides. I like your project ❤ Good luck Hope my suggestions help you to improve your project

7:15 You will get some transfer. But a compressor is just a vapor pump. You need a cap tube, piston, or thermal expansion valve to create the compression. LNG is created at -260° so this will be a hurdle as well. You might get lucky and the increase in pressure might bring the temperature requirement down.
You are using house hold micro Owen magnetrons.They can withstand for long run continues pyrolysis?
Fantastic Keep it up!
Who is your biggest inspiration? What also sparked your interest? It’s quite amazing what you’ve done with your limited recourses. I’ll be following you on your journey. I’m excited to see this on a much larger scale.
You should see if there’s a precious plastic workspace near you. They will have shredders and maybe plastic they can’t recycle Such as pet or stuff with contamination . I recycle polypropylene and polystyrene into new plastic and this is amazing to see .

It's such a smart idea turning plastic into full fertilizer hop you have a patent on you're invention
This plastic-to-fuel reactor is genuinely remarkable and impeccably engineered! Congratulations! As for the issue you're having with carbon buildup around the exit hole, have you considered integrating a pneumatic vibrator? Given that compressed air is already part of this project, perhaps attaching a manifold at the required location and running a hose attached to the vibrator to the outer tube where the carbon enters could be beneficial. This method could have the potential to improve the extraction of carbon through the exit tube, thereby enhancing efficiency.

Hey I wonder, does I know the machine can take any plastic but does it take different types at the same time? Or are their certain plastics that when combined do some weird stuff?.
That heat you're trying the keep in with insulation, you should also utilise thermoelectric converter to try make the thing power itself using its own waste heat..

Have you seen how much energy it takes to run a batch? I'm super curious about that.
I’m so curious as to what size scale you would need for the mountains of plastic trash we accumulate everyday. This is amazing but unfortunately I don’t think big oil/fuel companies would want this to take over as a fuel source cuz this should be cheap to buy n that would mean we win they lose and they no likey that!!

No hate i absolutely love this and would love to see this at a 10x bigger scale to help clean this world 90% of us are destroying as its our home and just like our actual residence we need to clean and look after it.

This is a cool project, but he's literally using more energy than what he's recouping. This isn't revolutionary, but its fun so why not? Keep up the cool work!
Im not a scientis but my concern about this are the amount of energy, electricity needed for the amount of fuel generated. Do you have some number?
What kind of bulk volume can this process in that 3 hours, and how much oil does that produce? I've heard that oil produced by plastic pyrolysis can be used to re-create new plastic, that sounds like it could be an effective way to recycle plastic without inherently making global warming worse.
how many Watts are you running, and whats the cost of power per run

got any solar powering those magnetrons?
The only way this can truly be useful is if you use maybe a combination of the carbon / gas by product as a way to recycle heat the device plus some less expensive energy uses such as maybe a Solar panel/ mirrors / Or Fresnel lens heating system or heck Water powered. Overall you would get less energy in the end product running 10 High powered microwaves. But using cheap clever non Grid based heating options plus recycling the fly ash/ gas as a way to reheat would possibly make it worth doing.
@jsprunger6246

Benefit of the end product though is long term energy storage which is worth investing cheap energy heating options into as a seed.
