Rundown on how I've set the quad up for camping, fishing and so on.Been great fun to travel with one

Well, not only do I use the quad for fishing, exploring, collecting fire wood and all that, but I also use it for camping out of it..
So I had to set it up to be suitable for all of the above and more, and in this video you'll see how Ive done just that. Keeping in mind it had to be half simple and easy to fix if I ran into any problems along the tracks.

Great mod on the tow bar, I’ve seen a lot of standard ones snap off when used over rough ground 👍

That’s such a great setup and so well thought out. If you had room for a little solar panel you’d have endless energy, I just fitted a DC to DC charger in the Ranger to charge the second battery but adding a solar panel was such a game changer. The Renogy (ebay) DC to DC charger also has a terminal to take the solar input and then after the second battery is charged (also charged via the starter battery/altenator) the power switches to charging the starter battery if required. No need for an isolator as the charger also handles the task of protecting the starter battery. I think the only way to protect plastic in the ultra high UV tropics is to cover fuel tanks etc with a thin sheet of ally or ply. Would a small aluminium canopy get in the way? It would protect the pooch from the sun and rain and create a spot for a solar panel if required.

Awesome set up mate!!! Need to finish my Grizzly off with a few of these great features your running!! How do you go with alot of beach work/salt water and your chassis? Found something good to spray your frame as a bit of rust preventative? Cheers Ryan

Thanks Ryan, don’t worry it takes me a long time to get things done as well. Spend more time looking at it thinking, than actually doing ha. Yeah the only thing I do is coat it in lanolin. Probably a whole can at a time. Clean it as much as I can but sometimes I’m out for weeks months in one spot and can only wash it done every now n than.Hard to keep everything from rust, the muffler and wheels are usually the first to give in to rust. Probably only other thing I’d do is go alloy rims.
