Run.Lift.Run | Secret Race Reveal

This is crazy- or courageous. I like experimenting with my training- pushing the limits, testing the standards; and crushing expectations. Is this not the JOY in life and in doing what we love?
My lead up to a big race typically calls for a solid 10-14 day taper. I’m not doing that- instead I’m putting a big block of training in days before standing on the START line to see how well I can run on tired legs.
Cocodona 250 is two months away and this could be a terrible idea or a great idea. I don’t mind failing and I have four 200 mile races this year to try different training strategies. After almost 15 years as an ultra runner, it’s incredible to see how our bodies adapt, strengthen and grow. Let’s see what happens after this weekend!

Something you’ll never hear me say “wasn’t crazy fast, just a 6 minute pace.” Woman is an absolute beast
Sally, I mentioned in a previous video that I planned to run my first 100 because of you. That was 2 years ago, got the buckle, and I’ve run another since and have 2 more this year! I think about your training tips every time I plan a week and so far I’ve taken 4 hours off my 100 mile time! Can’t wait for your book. My 12 year old son is running trail races now too. You truly are an inspiration! Your “couch to 250” comment made me chuckle.

So awesome!!!! Psyched for you and your son
This chicks such a badass. Id be happy to be even 1/4th the runner she is one day. Im 37 and my goal is to run my first ultra by 40! Fingers crossed
Thanks for being raw. "I'm tired, but it doesn't matter what I feel like. It matters if I do the work." That really resonated with me on days that I'm exhausted and don't feel like giving my 100%.
Running 100 mile race as part of training sounds like a brilliant move. And they way you’re doing sounds perfect for Cocadona.
Really enjoy watching the vids! Keep up the great work. You and Nick Bare keep the motivation high 💪🏻
Love these videos! Thanks for sharing your goals and journey. Every time I see a new post from you I get all excited to watch it. And you always have these great little nuggets of advise and encouragement. The wholesome and realness of your videos are a breath of fresh air!
I love your channel!!! Great job with the videos, and good luck on your next race! Can’t wait for your book!
Keep crushing!! Good luck on the 100 this weekend!!
I bloody love this... put the body in an uncomfortable tired state and then push it further.... Great plan... I love how you articulate how you train and the psychology behind why you are training the way you are... Keep it up Sally... ! Love the content! and thank you for bringing us on the journey!

You are such an inspiration! Tough, strong & fearless!
Love to see this awesome running in OC and surrounding area. I live in Colorado but absolutely love running Santiago Oaks and other trails when visiting my folks
This is an Incredible goal! I hope it is something we can watch. I like your thinking about using it as almost like a training module. See what works, what dosent then fix it.
I just moved from LA to Portland a few months ago and I love watching you run in all the spots I used to run.
Amazing. Can't wait to read your book.
Again, love these videos Sally and Eddie! All the best for the 100 miles, on very tired legs! Looking forward to the video :-) Go be strong Sally!

Major ups Sally! Yeah last week we had crazy weather at the beach. I was on the beach path to Newport and it hailed on me last week. It was pretty beautiful to see what looked like snow on the beach. 6 min pace finish after that effort is gnarly!

Have you had any issues with your knees? Currently have a lot of pain in both my knees after runs in the morning and nights. Just curious to see if you have a had any of these issues and how you handle them. Thanks!
Have you ever tested your VO2 max? Just found your channel. Very impressive. I’m only just now training for my first marathon.

Thank you!
I've done 3 100mile races and Champions like Sally,etc watching them train - I suck lol lol
How do you like the invincible 3’s compared to the 2’s? They’re soooo soft, I’m curious how you like them.
🙌🏽🙌🏽
hi! on the 11 mile hill run, where would that trail be? I'm 30 min from OC and I'm looking for new trails to run on!
I've heard that the Invincible 3s are terrible for flat or over-pronated feet, but I've also heard others say there really good and they look so comfy. What are your thoughts them?
Curious about the hand held hydration. Going through all kinds of experiments with how to carry different amounts of hydration. Wondering why maybe the best female ultra runner of our time is using it - hate crap on the back/waist/chest? Like getting some hand/forearm/bicep/shoulder work along the way? Anyone have thoughts? Hand held is the one way I haven't tried yet, but apparently it works for the best trail runner I've seen...
“I’m trying to make 20 miles feel like it’s 5.” 😂😂😂
how do you get so durable like that running high mileage?
What do the 100 hours translate to in terms of miles????
Whats your pace
Sally, do you do any hormone replacement therapy (ie, estrogen), or even testosterone supplementation? I know it's still new for women (hrt). Maybe that comes across as personal, but I think it's fair for an 'influencer' to be transparent about such things, as it could be directly responsible for their achievements and fitness. Anyway, I'm a fan and want a better understanding on how to balance weight training with running (done naturally).
@eimearrosenicholl3734

Testosterone replacement is illegal under WADA conditions even if the athlete has menopausal symptoms related to low testosterone. As far as I know there are no TUEs for that. Estrogen and progesterone replacement are allowed.
@i_would_but_i_wont

@@eimearrosenicholl3734 Thanks for the clarity. Afaik, estrogen and progesterone replacement essentially allow the female athlete to stay younger and are effectively the same thing as trt for men. Imo, if someone is giving fitness advice publicly (and making a living off of it) they should be transparent about their use of it.
@eimearrosenicholl3734
Жыл бұрын
@@i_would_but_i_wont they're not really the same. Trt is rarely needed in men as testosterone declines very slowly, whereas women experience a more dramatic decline with menopause. Also hrt doesn't keep women young (sadly). There is a rich interplay of other hormones beyond just estrogen and progesterone that drop with age and the cyclical pattern of female hormones pre menopause isn't exactly replaced by HRT. The doses are supposed to approximate levels pre menopause but it's not exactly the same.
Maybe can write your book better while running... Clear head mental notes... Awesome work
