Correction: It's a track "written" by Marcus Miller FOR David Sanborn (..as the majority of Davids' music was). That's why he killed it!!

Thanks. The genius of M2 is fun to explore. Like you said, its a David Sanborn song but the bass line just dominates. The thing l enjoy the most about Marcus Miller is that his songs aren't built around a bass solo. The bass solo expresses itself within the song, but still stands out. But he also has an amazing straight ahead trio thing on video where he and his band is playing in front of a full orchestra on the song jeckel and hyde that makes want Mr. Miller to compose just 1 straight ahead jazz album! Very greatful for your breakdown. I kinda taught myself that riff in sections too but not with the same technical breackdown and insight you have. Absolutely a feel thing unless you have a grasp of time signatures and beats per measure and all the stufff that blurrs my mind lol. Got to close your eyes and feel it lol. Great work sir!

The track is by Marcus Miller,he wrote the song. It was recorded on D Sanborn's album. Marcus was the bass player in David's band at the time. The credit has been mixed up for years but again, it is Marcus's song.

marcus miller wrote run for cover in his late teens early 20s and it was on David Sanborns 1981 album Voyeur Marcus composed 4 of the songs on that album ...aside from Marcus legendary Uncanny style of Groove on the bass hes a equally as good of a composer and producer helping Sanborn and Luther vandross achieve commercial success and helped revived Miles davis career in the 80s

Great Job Daric,I'd love to have a teacher here in the UK that breaks it up like you do,had 4 tutors and sacked them all,to much talking with the tech stuff that I don't have a clue about, teaching scales that take me nowhere,so im back to using my ears, love to come to America but the risk of being killed by your police is to big,so I'll continue to listening to you from here, big up on this video bro,im going to get this down by tomorrow, big respect Daric.

Hello Daric. When I go on my KZread history of what videos I have watched and do a search with the keyword "bass", ur vids arent displayed in the results. So that leads me to that u don't have any tags containing the keyword "bass" for this video. Would be great to be get found in the YT search. You could get more followers. U could also put bass in the title. This could also help to get listed in the search. And by the way: Bomb video, man. Thnx. Bass learning is fun with this video. I am a very new beginner. :) Cheers.
