Ehhh... Team 1 seems inexperienced when it comes to knowing about how most gods play. That's kind of easy to tell considering they responded to Thor and Ra poorly, and Pewds didn't seem to understand how to play Osiris fully. At least for this match, they also had a kind of crappy team composition. They were all physical damage and Ken (Bastet) wasn't able to jump in and pick off Ra. They also didn't have much wave clear so they couldn't play very defensively. Ken and Cry both had auto-buy enabled as well (meaning they didn't feel like figuring out which items to buy for the situation and so on). In general they would've done much better if Ken had played a Mage with AoE like Ao Kuang or Poseidon. But still, Team 2 has more experience overall (though AngryJoe sticks out as the weak link like a sore thumb), and the other two teams are on higher levels of play than Team 1 and 2. So it's hard to imagine that Team 1 will get more than third place, if that. Meanwhile Team 4 is looking the strongest after the first matches, though it could end up being a toss-up between Team 4 and 3. Team 2 and 1 will pretty much be duking it out for third place.

Sorenthaz in Joes defense he did have a few few jacked kills but overall I agree with you the other two were clearly more experienced.

You can easily tell which team is more experienced/tryharding and which is more laid back and not taking this seriously, lol.

Butt Flubber Cannon Honestly with a fanbase as huge as his there is always going to be some bad/annoying fans. I don't watch Pewdiepie's videos but atleast from what I have seen of him on Polaris and what the Game Grumps have said on their show, he seems to be a nice guy.

Yeah! Go Joe, Crendor and Jared! I think the teams were pretty balanced, seems to me Projared and Ken were more experienced and crendor and cry played a bit while Joe and Pewds were relatively new. Anyways I'm rooting for team 2 they have the most fun to me and are some of my favorites in Polaris (next to the Cox Master and TB) :). Also stop hating on Pewdiepie, he's a good guy, new to smite and rumblezones and when he's serious, I find his videos to be good. When he plays horror or silly games he has fun and acts silly for a different audience, not for you "gamers" so you don't have to watch or like his content. As the top channel on YT with most of his content as games, I feel he helps create opportunities for new KZreadrs who want to play games and in general it helps people take games and KZread more seriously.

The teams were far from balanced when you look at team comps on one side you had 3 physical characters with poor lane clear (killing all the minions). On the other side you had 2 physical and one magic characters with great lane clear (both ra and thor can clear lane).

michael chavez The choice of characters is part of the game, not a balancing issue. Joe's team picked well, PDP's didn't, that doesn't mean the teams were unbalanced in that respect. It will be interesting to see if Joe's decision to go ranged next time comes back to bite him, for example.

Team 2 (Joe/Crendor/Jared) know how to play. Team 1 (Pewds/Cry/Ken) seem pretty inexperienced. You can easily tell that because Pewdiepie didn't even pick a god he's familiar with (Osiris), and their team composition is pretty bad. Plus Team 2 is being way more communicative, controlling the side jungles, and taking this seriously in comparison to Team 1. Oh, and Ken/Cry have it set to auto-buy if you notice their inventories. So they're clearly inexperienced. And in general that team was taken by surprise quite a bit by Thor/Ra.

Merson The Person team 2 had played a bit before and had previous exp with the game. team 1 has very little if at all played the game. no matter how hard they tried, team two would have always had the upper hand. i think that they could have found a better team to put into the tournament than a group that knew nothing from the gate

It's just a publicity stunt for Polaris to get more attention, like most of these KZreadr mash-ups. This isn't a serious competition and you can tell easily because of the ranges of experience between the four teams and how horribly imbalanced it is. Pewds, Cry, and Ken are here purely because they're popular streamers and play together often, so bringing them in a team on here gives Polaris more views as fans will come to cheer for them.

So I keep reading here in the comments how Jared, Joe and Crendor were "tryharding" while the other team was "laid back and having fun while not taking it seriously at all and its great". Can somebody please explain to me where the fun was? Listening to each team's conversations, Jared, Joe and Crendor radiated much more fun than the others, who appeared bored, desinterested and completely uninvolved. They could've phoned in their lines without playing the game. And yes, Jared and the rest DID play practice matches before the tournament, which they also showed on their channels this weekend. How is that in any way "tryharding"? They were preparing for their jobs, learned how the game works AND ended up having fun, laughing and their conversations were full of friendly banter. Pewdiepie and Cry, by comparison, were COMPLETELY out of the loop and didn't even understand how to play the game. Maybe I'm too old for this stuff, but if I take on a job, a brand deal, or anything else, I'd at least look into the subject matter for a bit before I have to show off my skills, to not completely embarrass myself. So no, this matchup was not "unfair" just because one team didn't bother to prepare for their job. They signed a contract and knew well in advance that they'd be doing this. Sure, they'll attract views regardless, but I doubt this has been fun to them, and sure as hell wasn't exciting to watch.

In my defense, I've played before, though only ever played Ra and had never played Bee man before. I have a lot of experience with MOBAs, 158 hours on Dota 2, countless on LoL, and I had played Smite for about a week last year before my niece was born and then lost time to do so. Just saiyan. :D

Actually, reading back on my response, and your consideration, you do make a good point. I do have prior experience with the game, but should have practiced moreso beforehand before going into it. Not disputing your personal experience with the game in any way, though. But it didn't seem like the three of you really had any experience as a team. Made it feel rather one-sided. Glad you see my point, really. At the end of the day, I'd prefer both times to "tryhard" while also having fun, as it makes the viewing experience much more exciting :)

Damn, it's apparently no contest. You got guys who already knew how to play with high level characters against people who are simply having fun. There's no reason to rejoice over a blowout victory.

few things done wrong in the builds. 1. pewdiepie's team had all physical. You never go all physical because the opponents will put on physical protections 2. angryjoe's team didn't capitalize on the fact that all the enemies used physical protections 3. pewdiepie took bumbas mask when you don't really jungle that much in joust 4. angryjoe had fewer protections then crendor did... mages shouldn't have more protections then the warrior 5. both pewdiepie and angryjoe didn't have any bulk that would help their teams push (although if this were conquest and pewdiepie were playing osiris like an assassin then the build would potentially work kinda well)

I laughed so hard, I just love to see Cry, Pewds and Ken playing together, I feel kind of sad because they lost but it was pretty funny, Pewds didn't have any idea at what he was doing, Cry was leading the group because he seemed to be the only one who knew about it and Ken was being killed every two seconds XD. The second group had way to much fun killing them

I do like how AJ's team are coordinating, doing fancy ambushes and stuff, while Pewd's team are just having fun and making jokes. XD

Very unbalanced teams. But that aside, this game is so boring to watch, similar to how boring LoL and WoW are to watch. I came here to listen to Cry, Ken and Pewds yet they were hardly in it - the main focus was on the other team. Someone on team 2 had an annoying accent as well, the louder/clearer one of the three. No offense to him or anything but there are some American accents that are hard to listen to.

Loving this! I've been meaning to try out Smite for a while now and this is making it pretty likely I'll do it today! Also loving the graphics for the tournament, nicely done.

I believe it's all about having fun, sure being serious, gaining experience, knowing what you are doing and wanting to win is great, who doesn't want that? But knowing how to have fun and be laid back sometimes is cool too. I think the red team was just taken by surprised at how good the blue team was. And anyways, this is PewDiePie in the team too, he's all about having fun! Keep it up guys, you'll do better with more experience. And remember to communicate more! That helps you too. XD :D

I honestly don't know why they put Pewdiepie(and crew) in there. They don't know how to play so they don't stand a chance against other teams. Polaris just did this to get more viewers because Pewdiepie is really big. This is a tournament for Smite, and you bring in people who can't play / need to learn more.

EpicLameGamer Actually Cry and Ken, did try, they were actually trying to put effort in practicing the game. While on the other hand, Pewdiepie didn't want to practice smite. As you can see since, he kept on running away while they were playing and after the defeat said, "Don't blame me." The only reason why they gave up because they were brutally massacred and after knowing what was to come was another defeat. Then they started to troll.

I love how you watch some serious gamers play talk bout strats and tips then I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how it switched to the derps and you hear them having fun and fooling around.

I like how Pewdiepies team was playing more for fun and enjoying it together or at least that's what it seemed like while the other team was out to win it and playing hardcore.

I swear...some of these comments ... they sound like freaking 12 year olds. If your gonna just comment sh*t than just... sshhhhhhuuuuuussssshhhh

Guys, next time, get a commentator. Listening to team chatter on this game just isn't all that entertaining. It worked for Guns of Icarus but with this it just falls flat.

Well, that went as I expected. I think Cry is the only one on team one I've ever heard say they played any mobas, and that was a long time ago.

I love it how pewds, cry and cinnamon were like so casual about it! "Teach me how to jungle!"

Blue team's guys seemed to take this way too seriously. It's like they won some kind of war? It's just a game, kind of sad how they acted throughout. Almost as if they were over compensating for something..

Riot doesnt need polaris to promote their game seein how its been out for years. Smite was released recently and in a this growing genre, could use the promotion, which is why they paid polaris to do this.

AngryJoe was way to hyped and the whole "pewdiepie is in it so im no watch" bs shows the brain power of the comments section. He didnt even really talk. Actually most of the people you did want to talk didnt. Cry: quiet, Ken: quiet, Joe:... Loud and annoying as ever but thats his style :/ This "matchup" was boring and was a set-up to fail for the Pewds,Cry,Ken combo.

Thank you for actually being the only one ive seen (so far) sticking up for the Pewdiepie, Cry, and Ken team. They're not experienced in this game, they were just playin it for a good time. I came down here and looked at these comments and was appalled by what I saw. It sickens me. But thanks again for that
