RUGBY GONE WILD | 24 HOURS IN PRETORIA

Спорт

I wanted to take you with me on the whole day watching a titanic Test Match between South Africa and Ireland that didn't disappoint. But more than the rugby, all the people, sights, sounds, beers, brandys and braais. A crazy day.

Hi Tim, huge huge fan of your channel since the RWC'23.I've never been to Loftus before, and this video has just made me envious of what it's really like when the Springboks win. The party atmosphere and cordiality between opposing fans is something to behold. And I wholeheartedly agree with that Irish man's sentiments about the banter and trolling of fans online. It's exactly what it is, just banter. South Africans are just a friendly bunch of people who are beyond passionate about their rugby and beloved Springboks. FYI, I managed to get a ticket with a group of my close friends to watch the ALL BLACKS VS BOKS at Cape Town. Will be my very first time of watching these two great rivals play each other. As you've probably read online, those tickets are like gold and scarce as hens teeth. Sold out in matter of minutes, but we bought ours a few months ago, when the suite tickets became available. Hope to run into you there in September. Again, love your unbiased and factual perspective on the game. Keep up the good work and may your channel continue to grow. You're a great ambassador not just for the game of rugby, but also our beautiful country.

Boks v AB matches are always an event. I managed to bet to Wellington for the game South Africa won 36-34. Westpac Stadium isn’t quite Loftus, but there was still a great pregame vibe including NZ BBQ vs braai stands with rosemary-lamb sausage dogs up against those made of boerewors…..Excellent stuff and an unforgettable match.

Always respectful, so informative, easy to make friends with. It is a pleasure and an honor to have you here, you have made thousands of followers in SA. Amen to that. SA tourism board ought to gave our man a big fat stipend! When he’s back for the RC matches with AB he’ll finally get to experience Cape Town, which will blow his mind even more I suspect.

You sharing a bit of true SA rugby gees with us. Thanks Tim. We often braai at Affies before and after! Loftus rocks! My favourite moment of the game was Chessies try! 💪🏉 Respect to Ireland, formidable opponents. And how passionately the fans sang our Anthem! Wow! Chilling stuff. Good luck on your future endeavours Tim. C'mon Durbs, give us a spectacle too. Go BOKKE! 🇿🇦🏉🥇

Great video Tim. I’m in Leicester not working today and out of bed and on my first brew watching your channel. Feels great soaking up the Loftus atmosphere . South Africans great people and you’re already a star over there . Reckon your nailed on for a invite to a Rassie barbecue. Looking forward to a full debrief 007 when your back home .

Tim, can I just comment sincerely and say, as a Saffer who’s lived 20 years in Australia, what an absolute delight it is to have discovered your channel, and your fantastic coverage of the Bok v Ireland series, and let me say it’s a delight to watch your journey and experience your first trip to SA through your eyes. 🫡

Another awesome video Tim. In the hum of the Springbok victory, that try by Jamie Osborne has not got the airtime it deserves. That was a magnificent try, especially for a debutant against the Boks! #strongerforever

While initially disgusted at the antics like booing the Irish team onto field, booing kicks, playing ‘Emotional Damage’ after Crowley missed. Playing Zombie at the end. But I’m starting to see it as more entertainment than disrespect now.

It happens with every single opposition team whether South African pro teams or International matches.. that Loftus... that's why they say it's hostile... but really the South Africans are very friendly people

The emotional damage thing was pretty funny. And I had initially thought they took on zombie because it's genuinely one of the best songs in the world and only found out yesterday they've been playing it to try and be toxic. The booing the team onto the field is what I've come to expect from them. We just need to get the next test over with and get out of there before anyone starts getting added to statistics.

Because your channel is neutral, objective and fair it is popular in SA. The crowd at Loftus can be very intimidating but they are also the most rugby informed crowd. So when there is a boo something happened or the player really irked the crowd. Owen Farrell a prime example. After the contact with Esterhuizen and getting away with it never forgotten. Hope you enjoy the Kings Park vibe.
