It’s possible that the people who decide to have a big inflatable Rudolph were not the same people who planned the parade route. The organizers should have notified participants of a height limit. Maybe they did have one in writing only, and didn’t think to double-check to see if anyone missed the memo.

As Paul Harvey would say ...and now the rest of the story....Rudolph was depressed for many many years obviously because all the pressure was on him every year to lead a team of fellow raindeer and a big plump fellow around the world delivering gifts to all throughout the lands ....but Rudolph was a tortured soul the pressure and expectations where just too much ..when Rudolph saw his chance on a mild parade type day he did it ...he took his self out on a stop light pole .... as you can hear from the crowd he made the right choice .....Thank you and good day
