he certainly does not have a poker face :-) or tail for that matter people give these guys much less credit then they deserve. they often KNOW when they messed up. With our two dogs, the guilty one is already hiding when we come home, before we even see what he did. (and there is not really a reason to hide, just a few bad words)

Well said. That's where I envision all my greatest pals when they move on. Rabits and squirrels running amok; lots of bones of the burried variety to dig up; endless fields to romp around with ponds and streams to swim and catch frogs. . and lot of boogers bears to chase for my protection. Its a place like home where Daddy never has to leave and go to work ...where play time never ends. If I die today, I can say I have been unconditionally loved by each of these wonderful little gifts. The dogs have passed on. So sad. But we have to remember, this video was made 7 years ago! We only have them for a short time, so treasure them. My little guy turned 12 this August, and I'm acutely aware of the passage of time. Take joy in this wonderful video that showed the personality of a lovely dog. Don't be sad. Last year I had to put my beagle down it was the hardest thing I've ever done. My wife had bought him for me about 6 months after we met when we were 15 years old lol. I bought her a female beagle about 1 year later and she's still with us. They truly are out best friends.

I love Denver with all my heart. And I remember watching this and just cackling and crying- but most of all: I felt. A few years later I was diagnosed with chronic depression. This is fear and anxiety, not guilt. It's been proven dogs don't really feel "guilt". They respond to the owner's voice and posture and feel like some punishment is coming. So they try to appease the owner with submissive displays.

You can only punish or correct the dog When You catch him/her in the act. Studies show that dogs will not understand otherwise, although it might seem that way.

Denver melts my heart every single time I see this video!!

I just had to come by and say hi, my husband and I bought Denver shirts when you sold them for charity, and recently, after all these years we rediscovered them, they’d been in a box since we moved 4.5 years ago, and it put such a smile on my face remembering you’re gently reprimanded and his heart felt guilt. Hope all is well and there are lots of great memories of Denver and Macy, this video has become part of our language, when I often ask my own dogs, Buddy, and Goliath are both now in heaven with Denver and I assume Macy, as she looked to be a senior girl in the video. But the newer dogs get asked “how could you?” When they’ve been mischievous, a direct quote from you. Hope all is well in 2024, best wishes from Texas

I just love this dog and how his master and nothing will stop his master from loving his dog no matter what. He loves his dog so much and tells the dog "All my love." I cry each time to watch this.
