Pretty sure she didn't look down to notice he was trying to shake hands. Looked like she was just embarrassed by the whole situation.

There was no malice involved. You can see in her face she was star struck and flattered to be joked with. She didn't notice the weird way Steve stuck his hand out to shake her hand. I didn't even know what was going on with this video until I had to read the description.

So easy to say things when you're not in that position. She didn't look like a "rude" person. He walked up to her when everyone was laughing and probably didn't see his hand. I seriously doubt she was "dissing" Steve Harvey.

Steve Harvey is a good man and handled that like a champ. Some people are saying maybe she just doesnt like to shake hands.. well if that's the case, all she had to do is simply and politely say something like "forgive me, i just don't shake hands", or something to that affect. You're confusing satisfying the masses with demonstration of respect and manners. Last time I checked, people in the U.S. demonstrate a mutual respect during a formal introduction of one another by shaking hands. And whether you respect the man or not should not affect your ability to be respectful as a reflection of your own education. If some one acts THAT rude will only reflect her own ignorance and lack of education. She never looked at Steve Harvey's hand, she didn't make any attempt to move her hand and her expression never changes as you would expect if someone was avoiding being touched. She's looking straight at Steve Harvey laughing nervously, she's completely oblivious to the handshake. No she wasn't rude, she was caught up in the moment of Steve Harvey being funny.

Actually as you can clearly see she's giving the host full on eye contact when he attempts to shake her hand I dont think she was rude or racist but rather distracted and in awe with the host xD

I thought of that.

Well he said "hey, uhh.." and paused when he put his hand out in a way that could be seen as a point while he tries to pronounce her name. With a name that hard to pronounce she is probably used to people struggling with her name so her first instinct would be to pronounce it for him.

I’m still unsure if she knows she refused to shake his hand, or if the family is just weird. The guy by her is clueless too.

In defense, many of us know we are not handshakes but fist bumpers.

Steve evidently doesn't know that a woman will extend her hand first if she chooses to shake hands.

Plus, and a lot of people don't know this or have forgotten the protocol on this, but it is never appropriate for a man to put his hand out first to shake a woman's hand; the woman has to initiate the hand shake. She could have just been socially inept. I have social anxiety disorder and I do things that cause people to think I'm rude as well.
