Wow it reminds me of back in the early 80’s a place in Struthers Ohio called Carbon Oil and Gas. A guy by the name of Morris Hill who was very smart along with some other investors got together and built a mini plant and we grew from that. We recycled tires in a furnace we produced #6 crude, benzene gas, carbon black and the scrap metal. We burned our own gas, sold the oil and scrap metal along with the carbon black screened and sifted.

Hey man i would like to have conversation with you about how much profitable is this business and what were your methods of doing it . It would really be helpful if you reply
Nice one. It shows you tyres don’t have to be wasted, they are full of good stuff like steel and oil.
this looks effective .. i was looking for DIY on how to recycle annoying neighbors

Nice video. However we use the fast pyrolysis unit Fpp02 for recycling plastic waste. It turns out fuel for hot water boilers.
I'VE seen footage of meth labs that looked safer than that place....

On the bright side we all support working conditions like this all across the globe. Every time we purchase an item made in a third would country we give one of these workers a job in these type conditions. It's not just the tire disposal industry that's this bad. Most industries have similar working conditions. Most of the companies don't care about the workers they are easily replaced. All they are looking for is cheap hard labor and little to no regulations. Next time you buy a product made in some of these countries you should feel good knowing that you are giving someone a job like this.
Mis respetos para los trabajadores deberían pedir un buen equipo para trabajar y un buen sueldo
A bit of naration to explain the process would be helpfull. So would some breathing apparatus.
That machine should be altered to turn the extra heat energy to create a power generator, or simply have some water tanks installed on the inside and a external steam generator.

Am explanation of what's happening would be nice. What is the liquid arm through the clear glass? What is done with the rubber that is burned off? And I assume the steel cords are recycled? What aboutt the workers when they get tire lung and die?? Into the burner??
The owner of this business should go straight to prison for multiple gross violations of fundamental workplace safety and occupational health rules. How long will the most likely corrupt government authority close their eyes for money?

It is actually a pretty cool process with a number of usable products. It is a fractional distilation process with the added benefit of steel and carbon black being produced.

John, I can't see an explanation of this process what exactly is going on here?
@johnfenn
5 жыл бұрын
@@nigelmitchell351 They are cooking the tyres under extreme pressure and high heat. Basically a huge pressure cooker. The rubber breaks down into various gases which they are then distilled into various liquids. They are able to extract a number of fine oils, medium oils, diesel fuel and heavy oil plus tar and carbon black, the black sooty stuff. Some of the oil they are using to power the furnace so they are not importing energy for their process. The carbon black was originally added to the natural rubber at the tyre factory, which is why tyres are black in the first place. It is basically the same process that goes on in an oil refinery. but here a bunch of guys in a third world country are doing it in a small village. It is as dirty as hell, but not as dirty as the tyres themselves. And they are getting a lot of good products out of the system, even the steel belts.
@nigelmitchell351

@@johnfenn Thanks for the explanation John. Most interesting. Just retired from a dirty risky industry myself. I take my hat off to these guys. And really hope they stay safe. WoW! Welcome to the 1920's and 30's. I can see how and why these multinational, totally greedy, corporations move their operations overseas where they can enjoy sweatshop labor. I'd be willing to bet these guys get peanuts for these jobs. They have covered their faces with rags probably to avoid breathing in the vapors, smoke, and debris at the yard. They loaded the furnace by hand, and of course they look filthy. I realize this is just recycling and I'm sure it's dirty but I don't see any material handling machines at all. Some guys were wearing open toe shoes, no gloves, no hardhat, no googles, and somewhat loose clothing. I'm sure it's hot however NONE of this would be allowed for safety reasons in the U.S. I wonder where the smoke goes from the heat. Into the air probably.

Wow at all the green experts below stating wasting energy for this process. Let me start off by saying harnessing steam and using its energy is great, but what are you going to apply it’s energy to or for at that site? Also is there not methane being produced in this process? Capture that and use it for fuel later?
Finally, the smart thing to do with old tires, recycle the metal wires, collect carbon, recover oil, and use the stored energy in the burning rubber to generate electric power or steam, gee I wonder were the USA's tires are going????🤔
