Even in Punjab too .😊 The first Guru of Sikhs Guru Nanak Dev ji in Punjab with his companion used to sing with Rabab always. It's a classic and unique instrument. 🌻 May be you are talking about an area in Afghanistan if i am not wrong here. At the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Afghanistan, Pakistan, India were one nation. So that's the reason of popularity of Rabab in some selective regions.

This is "Pakhtun" music, not wholly "Afghan" music, Pakhtun are spread across Afghanistan and Pakistan so what if I say its Pakistani music, would it become Pakistani, it certainly won't, its more of a specific ethinicity's music, so no country can take credit for calling it their music, that's just my point of view. Anyways Peace.
