    Thank you for the review, I'm going to sub. I've bought a 4070 ti Super because I got an Asus TUF model at MSRP; I was upgrading from a 3060 ti and so pretty much a 100% increase in performance; I game on a large 65" display and so 1800p and 2160p are my targets; and because to me £799 was simply more palatable than £999+ for what is a refreshed 4080. The 4070 Super is a great card for less, but at higher resolutions and with RT enabled, that 12gb framebuffer just wouldn't have been quite enough for my requirements, certainly moving forward beyond the current batch of heavier titles.

    I usually enjoy to benchmarking and testing my hardware. I was lucky and my 4070 from Gigabyte did so well in OC and @3030/11800 gained about a 10% (9.87% avg in my game suite) on the 4070FE. So i think that the margin now is below 5% to a 4070super. However you have one of the best gametesting suite that covers a lot of gamer's tipically scenario, really good work!

    As someone who got their RTX 4070 O/c model near launch for $490USD + taxes here in Australia 🇦🇺 as an open box, I’m more tha; happy with it performance in my HTPC setup🥰🥳 and connected to my 4K OLED! Its gaming performance for BR multiplayer titles at 1080p/1440p is great with a high refresh rate experience 🤩🥳🤯.In addition it plays most single player titles at 4K (DLSS Quality) on high settings at 60fps+ 💪👍and as shown here in the video, it’s a decent “budget” 4K gaming option.

    No need to be so humble, Nada, your hard work is always appreciated! and the wide game variety is extremely useful since it allows us to have a good idea of the performance we would get with certain GPU. Since Spider-Man runs so well, I'd love if you use Very High settings (everything maxed out but no RT). I guess since you have the data from many GPUs from the past, it wouldn't be easy or even possible to re-test the game with every single one of them, but in that case I'd just prefer you to show the results for 2 or 5 GPUs for now and keep adding new ones in the future

  • @TechTesters

    @TechTesters

    Hey. Happy to hear :). Just to clarify, all cards get retested properly with launches like this, that’s why you don’t see me compare (old) 4060 Ti data for example. But its nicer to keep the settings per game unchanged for other reasons, when a new game comes in I’ll reconsider it. Spider-Man 2 maybe :)

    Really nice video 🙏 one thing Im curious about in the choice of which graphics presets you choose to use for these benchmarks, how come some are in ultra and some in high etc? Cause the peformance takes a hit from maybe not too much of an improvement in actual graphics? Just curious as I said, keep it up 😄

  • @TechTesters

    @TechTesters

    3 ай бұрын

    Thanks! Generally I'd say High is probably the setting to go for. It depends a bit on the game why some are Ultra, sometimes it's an older decision (Tomb Raider), sometimes it's just other practical reasons. Red Dead (and GTA before it) are a disaster with setting validation for example, and MSFS is CPU limited very often so you might as well up the graphics settings on many GPUs.

I don't see the benefit of the RTX4080 Super over the RTX4070TiS that rectifies the 220€ or 20% price difference Especially that late in the product cycle, I much rather go for upper-mid class GPU and sell it once the 5080 in a year or two, which will be significantly better in 4K, nullifying that aspect for me. Is there something I'm overlooking?

I've got a 3440x1440p ultrawide but I also play a lot of VRChat and when it comes to VR, there is no DLSS/FSR, only raw horsepower and VRAM capacity matters so the more the better, and the 4070 Ti Super has a good balance of all that while being more energy efficient than AMD's options.

  • @idoruhman
    @idoruhman3 ай бұрын

    While it is nice in principal, the 4080 super is already going for 2xMSRP in some cases, just like the old 4080. The 4070 ti super, while not perfect, is still gettable at MSRP online. This means that realistically, the ti super is a better value if you want high frame rates at 1440p.

  • @TechTesters

    @TechTesters

    3 ай бұрын

    Yeah don't spend 2x MSRP on it. The week after launch is always rough, but I do expect the market to stabilize around MSRP soon enough again, like it has been with the 40-series cards in recent months (except for the 4090).

  • @omc951
    @omc9513 ай бұрын

    Would you say the best use case for the 4070 Ti Super would be 5120x1440p 32:9 monitors? I like the 4080 Super price drop but I feel the price premium over the Ti Super is still not justified for this resolution, however the better value 4070 Super might be limited by VRAM with demanding titles as 5120x1440 is still 88% of 4K. Not a lot of benchmarking is done for 32:9. What’s your opinion on all three cards for this resolution?

  • @TechTesters

    @TechTesters

    3 ай бұрын

    For that resolution I would say a 4080 Super is be worth considering if you can easily spend that extra money, but I'd say the same for a 4070 Ti Super over a 4070 Super. It's close enough to 4K that the same reasoning applies. Keep in mind a 4070 Super will be fine there just like it can be fine at 4K with DLSS, but if you can afford a bit more, even if it's the Ti Super and not the 4080 Super, I'd go for that.

    This was very educational, cheers👍 Very sorry for the long post but I still only have consoles though at the price of a 4070 super I might finally be able to afford a gaming pc too. So if anyone can explain this then ❤️🙏 in advance; On PS5 and XSX sub 50 framerates just high enough to engage VRR feel very smooth particularly in the few cases where a 120hz/40fps mode is provided. Both feel SO much better than 30fps. So very much. I have only tried a blind test with one person but in every case they picked sub 50fps VRR games as being a fluid 60fps and this is how it feels to me. So assuming all of these games and cards will do VRR I’d be happy with 48fps at high to ultra settings with RT. Apparently XSX engages VRR at around 42fps while PS5 can only use it at 48fps+ but many tech guys still aren’t sure of this or seem to understand it. But XSX games must be coded to use VRR while PS5 has a setting to force it on all games. So I’m hoping these lower end PC cards can do the same? I only ask because I don’t hear PC people talking about VRR so it doesn’t seem to be important to you guys?

  • @TechTesters

    @TechTesters

    3 ай бұрын

    VRR will depend on your monitor, not so much the input. Some monitors only allow VRR from 48 FPS or above, performance below that can vary quite a bit, some handle it OK, some handle it badly. But you're right that 50ish FPS with VRR will usually feel completely fine, and that 40 FPS on a 120Hz TV is WAY better than 30 FPS. As someone who plays both Xbox, PS5 and PC: No console comes close to the smoothness / responsiveness of a modern gaming PC with a modern (high refresh) monitor. I'd personally take a 4070 Super with DLSS and a 4K/120Hz display over an Xbox or PS5 experience any day.
