@@TechTesters It definitely isn't consistent with other reviews and my own experience. With Bios 106 (as in your video) and the most up-to-date arc drivers at the time of your video most people got over 50fps. With Bios 109 or 10a plus the latest drivers and extreme performance with overboost, Cyberpunk is now averaging closer to 70fps, a massive difference to the 30fps and stutterfest in your video. Sadly I think something was missed in the settings? Also Baldurs Gate 3 is now considerably smoother (as is Starfield). All that said it was a great review but I would love to see an update! I have the SD Oled, Claw and LeGo and the Claw is now my favourite handheld!

Nice and fair review Nada. Keep up the good work. Personally I would never buy an Intel Arc based handheld that doesn't come with at least 32GB of RAM as they typically need more RAM than their Radeon counterparts. 16GB is simply not enough for the MSI Claw especially in those heavier titles showcased here.

It's also worth looking at a company's track record with regards to customer service and whether or not they learn from their mistakes. Both MSI and Asus ROG have developed terrible reputations for their customer service while Valve is known for being very customer-friendly. Obviously, any company can change and improve, but just like you shouldn't buy a product based on what it promises to offer in the future, it's unwise to buy something from a company known for bad CS based on their promises to turn things around.

@@TechTestersexactly this. I would like a more powerful handheld to pair with my steam deck oled le (which I love and use more than my beastly gaming pc) but I refuse to spend that kind of money on a product that I know has defects. That along with ASUS scummy practices makes me hesitant. I may get a Legion Go or wait to see what improvements ASUS makes to the Ally X.

The biggest issue with these other gaming handhelds is that they are squeezing in 1080p high refresh rate screens. When they should have just slapped in a 720p 90hz screen instead. Valve knew their hardware was under-powered at launch and opted for a 60hz 800p screen.

I hope that msi will make an msi titan in a handheld gaming device with msi dragon center and msi afterburner. I wonder how msi claw handles games like control, crysis remastered, metro exodus enhanced edition, and microsoft flight simulator etc. I like these games due to graphics especially crysis remastered with can it run crysis mode since crysis remastered is my favorite game to play as use a reference and benchmark. Crysis remastered is my reference and benchmark because of can it run crysis mode in every graphics settings with native resolution, upscaling like dlss and other upscaling settings are always off since I never upscale the games. I always have dlss always off, v always off, v sync always off, the maxed out graphics sliders maxed out for every game, unlimited frame rates always enabled and frame rate cap always off for games that support these settings. For crysis remastered, can it run crysis mode always on intentionally because that's how I play. Ray tracing always enabled, dlss always off, v sync always off, motion blur always off, ray tracing experimental boost always enabled. I use these crysis remastered graphics settings on purpose when playing in native 4k on pc since I like to play the game that demands every last bit of hardware with can it run crysis mode because I enjoy the graphics alone. If there was an option for can it run crysis mode for every game, I would always enable it even when the game struggles to play the game at any decent frame rate.

Rog Ally Z1 extreme is a better buy. I was considering buying a switch lite before then I saw a demo unit of ROG Ally and tried it and fell in love of it for the first try. The weight and feel is great perfect in my hands and its very light as well and the screen 1080p with VRR I tried the Horizon 5 looks great on it never experienced any lag or stutter and the game looks very sharp and crisp on it having 1080p with 120hz . I never regret buying it and very happy with my purchase having to play gamepass because it has free 3 month game pass, epic games, Alan Wake, Kingdom Hearts , Genshin Impact and my Steam games there is no limitations to it and the Armory Crate is very clean and easy to use. I'd say it was perfect if it weren't for the battery life but hey I can sacrifice battery life if I can play all PC games and in 1080p.

TBH, Although it's true that other Handhelds have been out for a while and are more mature in product and optimization, but this is something that MSI already knew when they were launching the Claw. They have introduced a product that in some cases is more expensive than the Legion or Deck, and at the same time with much less performance and optimisation. I think this product is simply not worth it even in the long term. And its not like they are creating something new or new competition, as Intel is doing with Arc vs Nvidia and AMD, its just some corporate greed which wants a piece of this market without any innovation or at least good performance.

You're really comparing it against the wrong product... The first choice when looking for a handheld is steam deck or windows. Windows has some advantages which is almost all of the advantages that you mentioned for the claw. But if you do go for windows, then you'd have to compare the claw against the ROG ally and the legion go (and maybe all the Chinese handhelds). Crucially all those others have AMD SOCs (basically all kind of the same one too). So really the question first is AMD or Intel? And while I love that Intel is trying to break into more powerful graphics, for now I really wouldn't recommend buying them unless they're way cheaper. And they're not. So for now if you want a windows handheld, going with the claw is the sucker choice. Go for one of the AMD handheld and you get all the windows advantages but with proper reliable performance from AMD. And that's only if you want windows, to be clear. Personally I don't, I much prefer my steam deck.

Nah.. it's junk thanks to being a Intel device. You are better off with a new Asus Rog Ally X or a Lenovo Legion Go with AMD

Simple. But some Manufacturers can fix that tho, to some extent. Let’s use the Google pixel’s camera for example prior to the 6 series and beyond. I know it’s different but at least u get the point.

Seeing how much Arc has changed since launch, I'd say software can do a lot more than we'd expect. Still need more though.

I'm afraid the Arc GPU just isn't on the level of the the AMD 780m, plus the fact that it's way more expensive means there's basically no reason by the MSI Claw.

@@Saif0412I think the GPU can, problem with iGPUs is that are CPU dependant and Intel CPUs are just not efficient at all so less power to the GPU, it will never overcome that problem
