@@MHCP Thats what the reviewers say. In 2020 they said 3080 4k card. In 2023 despite 4070 having same performance as 3080, they call it 2k card. Gamers have been playing 4K long before 4070 existed, its not a new feature.

5700x has 32mb L3 cache only, while 5600x3d 96mb cache. Games love cache thats why its faster. But vcache cpus cannot be OC, require more wattage 5600x3d 105w vs 5700x 65w.

So, ive been in the same boat. 4070 FE, r7 5700x. Upgraded my CPU cooler today thinking that was the reason. But no, I cap at 60-80% GPU usage, and cpu boosting to 4.6, and only get 100-120 FPS. I dont know what this guy is doing differently.

No, the maximum gpu it can't bottleneck is the 6800 xt and the 3080, which 4070 is around the same as a 3080

@@dry938 Either he has a freak R7 5700x, or its not that CPU. But I trust this guy and hes been nice, so it must be. I've now replaced every part in my computer, including rma'ing another 5700x. New psu, cpu, gpu, and cooler, and maximum only got 150fps. His is just built different i believe.

4070 will bottleneck no matter what CPU you use at 1080P. The GPU is made for 1440P resolution.

4070 has the same performance as 3080. A 4k card in 2020 based on reviewers. Released in april 2023 while Ryzen 5700x april 2022. I dont think either will bottleneck, theyre on the same level.

Because the cpu cant handle the 4070, the 4070 can deliver way more frames than the 5700x can process, which means that if you had a better cpu you would be getting more fps, however, if you increase the graphics settings the 4070 will go up in the % usage without losing to much fps. Remember, the lower the graphics settings the better your cpu needs to be to handle the gpu because it is easier for the gpu to deliver fps, but the load in the cpu almost never changes regardless of the graphics settings. Just to be easier to understand, imagine that your 5700x can handle 100 fps, this will not change regardless if it is 1080p or 4k, but your 4070 can handle 200 fps on 1080p, however, you will only get 100 fps because this is what yout cpu is capable of, but if you go to 4k your 4070 can only handle 50 fps, which means you will only get 50 fps, eventhough your cpu can deliver 100 fps. Although, if you set your settings to 1440p both your cpu and gpu will get 100 fps, which means that is the optimal setting for you. Edit: Ray Tracing may not be a solution sometimes because it increases significantly the load on the gpu, but it also increases the load on the cpu, so you might have bottleneck even with Ray Tracing enable, but sometimes it can work.

Don't know man, I have the same gpu + cpu combo but my cpu is almost all the time @100% usage with same settings like you and gpu "idles" around 60-70. fps a bit lower than you but could also be due to the position on the map

Holy moly that's a Huge bottleneck in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p. i9-9900K gets like 30% more fps with high crowd density and dlss quality. They need to fix the smt issue.

В среднем (точнее всегда), у i9-9900K колоссально больше разгонного потенциала, как по памяти так и по кольцевой шине/ядрам, и он лучше справляется/скалиурется с напряжениями и током, хоть и потребляя больше энергии. В среднем (точнее всегда), у i9-9900K ниже задержки между ядрами и по памяти, соответственно рабочий стол и простые задачи будут отзывчивее, особенно с быстрой памятью. В других приложениях/бенчах 5700x может показать результаты лучше, но общая скорость отклика хуже. В среднем энергопотребление у них одинаковое на 4.7ггц, если андерволтнуть оба проца. Даже есть вероятность что хороший экземпляр 9900К 4.7ггц с хорошей памятью будет употреблять в играх меньше, но зато температуры будут намного лучше из-за природы распределения тепла в этих процессорах. Потребление вырастает сильнее у 9900К только при высоких напряжениях, но температуры примерно одинаковые у них даже когда он потребляет заметно больше.
