the rtx 4050 has a huge performance uplift compared to last gen 3050, while the 4070 is a huge disappointment, I'd say the middle rtx 4060 is the best laptop gpu right now

I think 4060 is the sweet spot for laptops. 4050 isn't bad but 4060 is a nice upgrade over it. 4070 doesn't improve fps that much. And both 4060 and 4070 laptop variants have same 8gb vram.

@@floppa5911 no you are slightly wrong here . 4050/4060/4070 do not touch 140watts in gaming . 4050 vs 4060 vs 4070 consume almost same power in gaming with little power gains like 5-10 watts . They give same performance on 115 watts vs 140 watts because these cards mostly stay around 100 watts only . No matter what their tgp is .

Btw, It's wiser to compare budget laptops of one brand with the budget laptops of another brand. I have Legion Slim 5i 4060 i7 13700H and temp never goes above 60c in both cpu and gpu while heavy gaming. I've had this laptop for over 10 Months, it's just like day 1. I also have another legion 5 2021 RTX 3050 4GB 95W i5 11400H tiger lake, I gamed and still game on it and temp is always between 50 and 65c and never goes higher. I own two Legions 2021 and 2023 and never faced overheating. That's not luck. Plus Legions have best screens(100% srgb) and high refresh rate(165Hz) and premium build quality and fair price compared to Asus and msi and other shitty brands. I don't blame you dear, you're just defending your brad but think for a moment: what makes a brand king? 1. Quality 2. Performance 3. Price 4. Support Gpus that come with legion always come with highest tdp and screens of legion always come with highest srgb yet at fair prices unlike those shitty overrated brands such as Razor blade, Dellianware, Asus and Msi.

finaly gpu with names that make sence the the 4050 is nearly double the performence than the 3050 and its even worst than the 1660 ti its basicaly a 1660 super with ray tracing maybe calling it the 2050 ti would be less confusing

Different laptops come with different results, if it was an Rog strix 4070 it would’ve been different for some reason

Really? On my desktop 3070 I get around 120 fps in witcher 3 maxed out 1440p. Ik it's a desktop card but my point is I didn't expect newer generation mobile gpus to be THIS far off. Funny thing is I typically get around the same fps as that 4070 in cyberpunk (with dlss quality) 1440p.

keep in mind the CPU differences here as well. Between the 4060 and 4070 laptops, the 4060 laptop has slower ram and a slower CPU, so the performance gap between the actual GPUs is even smaller than it appears here

@@clouddash-wu5ug Because it means your are being GPU bottlenecked not CPU bottle necked. If the GPU were at less than 100% than it would come down to the CPU for better framerates. Certain games lean more heavy on CPU like FPS games, Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.
