Anil Divan, senior advocate of Supreme Court and President of the Bar Association of India, while speaking at a seminar organised by Moneylife Foundation in Mumbai on 15 October 2011 told the audience about the RTI Act, and the scope and potential of the RTI Act 2005 in coming years.
Moneylife Foundation held a seminar, on 15 October 2011, on Rights to Information (RTI) and The Way Forward, with speeches given by Mr Wajahat Habibullah, first Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) under the RTI ACt and Mr Divan. The seminar was focused on RTI and the importance of the tool to fight corruption.
Anil Divan, a senior advocate with the Supreme Court, started his practice in Bombay High Court in January 1952. He has been practicing in the Supreme Court since the last 32 years. Mr Divan is currently the President of the Bar Association of India and was former President of LAW ASIA (1991-1993). He served on the International Law Association's committees on water resources and bio-technology. He has served as Amicus Curiae in several public interest litigations (PILs) before the Supreme Court of India involving high-level political and bureaucratic corruption.

    independent bodies go themselves corrupt. Judiciary is independent, but probably more corrupt then politicians.. independent bodies will have absolute power, and absolute power corrupts absolutely... in my opinion there should be public control over each bodies through right to recall.. Lokpal without right to recall will be more powerful than politician and hence will be super duper corrupt..
