I was a child, but so wished I older....😂❤❤❤
I was 21 in 1990. What a time to be alive.
Always amuses me what a quick thinker Jack was, and a natural storyteller as well.

Classic, love jack. RIP and huge respect to him and Bobby. Love from an Irishman whose lives they touched.
Great reception to a great person and gent.
I was born in 97, yet this man still has a mark on my life. I find that quite remarkable, the stories of those times my mam told me. The greatest English man to ever walk on our shores.

Hey, I’ve been to your country twice ya know?
I remember supporting the Republic in 1990 even though I was a Scotland supporter. They had a great tournament.

Maith thú!
The first five seconds of the Late Late Show opening track always blew my mind. Still does. The brass is.. well, the brass.. I so would love to hear a full complete track work the same energy of the start.

Just an unbelievable man.
RIP BIG JACK
I love jacks diplomacy when he says (on meeting the pope) I enjoyed it even though it meant…… well…. it meant a lot to everybody ha ha, when what he wanted to say was even though it meant falling asleep because I was bored 😅
Without Jack the Good Friday agreement may have not happened. He's stalwart English yet Irish accepted him & broke the walls of division South & North. But if you're Irish please give a view..

Jack was loved by the Irish except by the unionists. He got a lot of hatred when he managed Ireland against the north in Belfast. If you want to thank one man for the good Friday agreement thank John Hume.
Proud to say I'm from roughly a mile away from Ashington used to see Jack fishing on the Prom
4:40 Good save Jack, good save. Almost said '' even though it meant fck all to me''

I could listen to Jack Charlton all day, he certainly knew how to tell a story. He always has that gleamed in his eye.
I remember the very First Game when he was Manager There was a Banner It said GO HOME UNION JACK Things changed after that......😀
The story about the irish fans going baa also happened after the Italy game in new Jersey When we started going baa the state troopers were flummoxed as to what to do!
A Great Broadcaster & Teacher.
Love big Jack stories
Always be Big Jack Pride of the North

Baa baa....bloody priceless
Brilliant wasn't he no doubt
I had a conversation with the late Glenn Roader. What a lovely guy he was. Anyway, he was telling me about when he and Paul Gascoigne ,(a great mate of his and his Best Man), were both at Newcastle. Jack was then the manager. However, Jack was bored by training and far more interested in fishing than football at that time. Jack would keep a close eye on the time and always turn up at the end of the training session. There he would be - post-fishing - in his Barber Jacket, corduroy trousers and slip-on shoes. He would always suggest that they ended each training session, (take note ENGLAND!), with an elimination penalty shoot-out session in which he would take part. He always won. Every single time. Glenn said that there was nothing more demoralising than being beaten in a penalty shootout by a man wearing a Barber Jacket, corduroy trousers and slip-on shoes.
He nearly as good a story teller as he was a football manager. Naturally very funny & had a real presence & charisma about him.
If you had to pick two Englishmen, viewed in Ireland as two complete opposites, they’d have to be Oliver Cromwell and Jack Charlton…
Great ken Dodd joke about jack meeting the pope he says' will you pray for us father' the pope mishears and thinks he said play' oh I'm too old for all that now lads. He says.
One of the few English Irish men lol

After 40 years I made this video about one of the countries that I Love the Most… Ireland. My daughter just visited the Green Emerald last week and that was my driver to make this video!!! If I have to mention two events that marked my life while in Ireland … Taking part in Saint Patrick’s Parade was one of them and secondly to be invited to the Late Late Show magically conducted by the best TV presenter I ever met! Gay Byrne!!! With my most sincere and warm feelings for my friends in Ireland! May this New Year bring Health and Happiness to All Irish people!!
