Yea definitely one to run. I think Hugo will make it his traditional spot with ice pops.

We have been toying with the idea of this event. Lots from our club did in on the Saturday. It does look like in places you just have to be patient whilst passing people walking / running slowly. Unexpected drama at the end with your brother - hope he's fully recovered.

Yea for most it's just to enjoy the day, there is a competitive field that started much earlier so they will have all the stages quite clear. Brother was fine later back home but I've told him he has to train properly next time!

Great video! I ran it last week (2024)……toughest race I’ve ever done! Way harder than the Sheff Half but really enjoyed it. Although it was 18 degrees and overcast not 27 and sunny 🙂

@@TheWu I’ve been wondering about the winter version as in if it’s the same route what shoes would you wear!? As you’d need full on claw spec trail shoes for the off road stuff but there’s also a lot of pavement involved as well. I’m not too good at coping with the heat that you ran in last year (so was lucky on that side of things this year) so am thinking the winter one is a safer bet

Great stuff! There's no other race like it. I did it last summer and also the winter one in January, which was incredibly muddy.

What happens if you go over the max recovery times, like spending too long in the "non race" section?

Ah yea if you were running it as a proper race and go over the recovery time at the end results it will penalise you. We actually had some on ours but obviously didn’t care as we were just chilling for most of it.
