I remember getting this little 350th anniversary medal and a poster with names on it, I remember getting the medal pinned on my chest by a major on the parade square. A few years later they got rid of the Regiment as though it meant nothing, and replaced it with a regiment full of foreigners. The Royal Scots was always an Edinburgh and Lothians Regiment.

I was in A company and can recognise many faces on this video, although they mostly look like young boys hiding behind hairy moustaches to me now. We were just back from a tour of N.I. at this time and everybody was proudly wearing their N.I. general service medal which anyone serving there for 3 months could get even the guys working in the stores and cook houses.60 now and it seems like a lifetime ago, some good times and some not so good, I don't dwell on it too much these days. Nice to see it though.

What an outstanding parade.

I was in number 4 guard D company sf platoon great parade.

My Grannies cousin was Pipe Major of The Royal Scots, Willie McRoberts.

Was a bitter sad day when, with a stroke of a pen struck this and many renowned Scottish Regiments from the defence list truly a tragedy,,,,,,,

except from the Seaforths Camerons formed the QOH,,,part of the Perth yeomanry formed with the Cameronians Scottish Rifles,,, at conception,,,,left the Three longest serving Reg,,,,KOSB,,,ROYAL SCOTS,, RHF,,,These Three Regiments alone gave over a centaury of service to King ,Queen and to the country ,,,,,,,

Find it odd on the royal review that both bands did not perform together? Guess it was only reserved for the Regt march and Amazing Grace back then?
