Saw this live with Rozhdestvensky and Postnikova many years ago in Tonhalle Zürich for a New Year's concert! It was, and is, great!

Oh, I love this, he made me laugh and smile, haven't seen conductor to be so funny. Even funeral march somehow didn't sound too serious. Bravo Maestro

I didn't hear Tchaikovsky but before the Gallop there is a tiny fragment of the song Dark Night (Tiomnaya Noch)

I think it's not quite right to call him "Russian Bernstein". They are equal in their greatness.

@@user-zg4fx6kp7p вы не услашали как оркестр пол мазурки играл лажу, потом совсем остановились перед самым концом и Рождественский в отчаянной попытке что-то собрать заорал: 2 последних такта!!!

@@user-zg4fx6kp7p @Антон Тарасов у меня нет перед глазами партитуры как у маэстро, и музыки я не знаю, (хотя при тщательном анализе можно достать и более конкретно разобрать случай), но на мой вкус ,если хотите, гипотеза такая: 17.45 - кларнет не туда вступает. Далее несколько пластов оркестровых просто в разных долях играет до полного фиаско, маэстро отчаянно пытается собрать то одних то других! Никаких кривляний и фанфаронства на лице, все в прошлом. Настоящая паника. Потом уже доходит до апофеоза и он кричит: "Два последних такта!!!" И оркестр доигрывает развалиышуюся мазурку. Далее маэстро был уже более сдержан и поясничал сквозь призрак мазурки

Il s’agit de l’Orchestre Symphonique de La Chapelle d’Etat de Russie (ou ancien Grand Orchestre du Ministère de la Culture d’URSS), enregistré dans la Grande Salle du Conservatoire de Moscou

Ce concert n'est pas très bien filmé... C'est dommage, parce que la musique est vraiment géniale!! (j'aime surtout le prologue, la marche funèbre et "chez les Malinov")
