Sammy: “The lyrics for ‘Escape’ were the result of discussing our personal experiences with passionate, yet fleeting relationships. Reflecting on my own history, I relived the conflicting emotions that came with deeply caring for someone who treated me like an escape, as opposed to a priority in their life. We aimed to showcase the euphoric hope amidst the looming uncertainty and fear of the end. Rozell’s production worked so perfectly to demonstrate this manic angst, that the topline came pouring out like the nervous conversations you have when your heart is in that especially vulnerable place.”
