Early 30’s and I just quit. I’ve been drinking hard since 15 years old. I felt the same as Royce I got tired of it and tired of bad decisions I made under the bottle. I gotta say we motivate and inspire each other just like Royce is doing for us and we are doing for others. One love.

Did you get any health effects from the alcohol. Ive abused alcohol when i was younger off and on. And a lot the past two years. Im hoping i didnt do damage to my heart. I had an episode of tachycardia and many instances of heart palpitations. I almost feel like its too late to quit and the damage is done. I have a doctor appointment I’m going to soon to get myself checked out specifically my heart. Im 1 day sober.

@@CommonSenseIsntTooCommon i think its just a withdrawal, it happens to me when i binge drink. Cant sleep good, and i feel my heart racing while im trying to sleep, its like a rollercoaster going to sleep. Ive tapered off , slowly lowering my alcohol drinking not cold turkey.. and it helps. As much as i dont want to drink one more ounce , its the only thing that helps at that point

I've been sober for almost 2 years now. I quit at the end of April 2018 after visiting my father in hospital, as he was suffering from kidney disease. Royce's "Book of Ryan" came out a month later, it helped me in my decision. The patterns in his family that he spoke about in the album were similar to my family's. It no longer became about just quiting for my own health, but also to stop the generational patterns, to stop the vicious cycle. Infidelity I quit in 2016 but I realised that as long as I am still drinking, I am vulnerable to the temptation. I want to be faithful to my wife, my children. Infidelity is a problem that creates even bigger in society. It breaks homes. Broken homes only create a broken society. I am grateful everyday to God, my ancestors and myself for liberating me from these 2 DEADLY diseases.

As an alcoholic, I cannot believe that alcohol is legal. I have survived tobacco and weed addiction, but alcohol is the hardest and worst addiction I've ever experienced.
