It’s not my favorite - it never really gets going / flowing for very long IMO but it’s still a nice option in the trail system

@@Twinkie1960 no, I mean rock n roll but maybe they’ve improved it. It’s definitely a fun trail just not my favorite with all the other awesome spots out there
My favorite ride is to climb Trough to the OG trail which leads in The Gautlet. This is a little less than 3 mile downhill. OG is fast flowy machine cut trail, Gautlet more old school downhill!

OG is a proper blue/black jumpline … a little more aggressive than a basic flow trail IMO … either way that’s an awesome route
The GoPro Effect does not do justice to the steepness of that middle section of Royalty. One of these days I'll get a clean run without stopping or putting a foot down.

It’s definitely steep ..: gotta trust the bike and weight/unweight accordingly

@@FoCoFlowShow I unweighted myself real good on my last run coming off that drop into the left-hand berm corner. I was unweighted right off the bike. 🤣🤣 I foolishly tried to make a last-second course correction on a wet root right at the lip of that drop. Didn't end well. 🤦😁

Carvins is the crown jewel of Roanoke MTB but there are tons of back country riding options in the region as well (north mountain, Acadia, spec mine, Doty ridge) Carvins itself had 30+ miles of awesome Singletrack with everything from the most technical rock gardens (rattlin run) to steep climbs (hi Dee ho, hemlock) jumplines (OG) and super fast chunky and fun DH runs (gauntlet, royalty, trough, comet).
