Tim Wonnacott and Rosemary Shrager visit Holkham Hall on the Norfolk coast, where Queen Victoria stayed for two days in September 1835 as a 16-year-old princess. Tim uses diary entries to recount how the royal party arrived to a lavish welcome, while Rosemary joins food historian Ivan Day to prepare foie gras in aspic jelly.

I keep expecting one of Tim's naughty double entendres, Bargain Hunt style.

argh....that food is setting off my trypophobia. Had to fast forward through all the food segments. guess if I was dining with the Queen, I would just have to hold my own.

Umm...curious about biological rests on those long roads? Did they use nature woods or carried pots with them for that purpose ?

I am having difficulty finding the "ballets". Are they named something different these day? Thank you. Cheers from Seattle!

Please try "ballettes", probably offered by European culinary suppliers in their "moulds" department.

I would be more interested to see the person who actually cooked the meal serve and comment on it than this lady. What do you need her for? The food historian is 10 times more knowledgeable. She is really only an unnecessary filter.

danivarius don’t be so rude! She’s knowledgable and a great chef! Plus, she’s delightful. I’m sure if she was a bikini model stood there doing nothing you wouldn’t be complaining!
