    Since tour obviously not or were ever a solider you wouldn't understand. It's called training and are trained to situations like this in an event like this you flip into like autopilot training mode as soon as the shit kicks off. It's drilled and drilled over and over so it becomes second nature without thinking what should I do now that I'm here with a fight like that going on. It's not rocket science people don't need to be in the military to know the answer to this question.

  • @Phildo8

    Love your work Chris! The fact that you do it alone & the fact that you voluntarily went through RM basic training & earned the beret shows that you have a deep vested interest not only in your film work but just as a human being in general! There are media from the US that my team went with a few times & they bring 3-5ppl & then those ppl have never been anywhere close to combat & yet we became responsible for them which may sound easy just babysitting adults lol but when they hear the slightest gun shot, explosion, etc. they would FKN freeze & lay down the first FKN time some idiot did that to me as I was bringing up the six behind a camera guy that was talking a big tough man game but we got word of TIC just ahead so we were on our way to assist if needed & we come to this field & my team & other media cross then this guy takes off & I follow well he hears a FKN ECHO of a single solitary AK shot just an ECHO & this mother fucker stops dead in front of me & hits the dirt scared as fucking hell & I stop & stay standing & tell his ass "look dude idk what you're accomplishing by always hitting the deck when we hear an out of area echo shot but I'm FKN glad we're in a field instead of a street BC you would've gotten yourself & me FKN killed doing this stop, drop, curl up bullshit so stand up & lets FKN go I'm not stopping again to help u if u dive down I'll just hurdle over top & go BC unless you see my point man signal to drop or drops down himself then you can do it but idk what u were FKN thinking here we have a team that u just seen clearly cross this field in a walking speed not to mention the FKN air support detail we had above you didn't see your guys stop so u don't stop & trip me up or worse if u do it & I accidentally FKN step on your arm or leg!" That FKN guy was like a scared little girl in a haunted house except he was a 6'2 225lb kinda built & talked tough but I'm telling u the guy has to have a vagina! Maybe not now but 2014-2015 he did when I had to FKN watch him! Anyway love your work brother & like I said you are dedicated & can also relate to what the guys talk about or do BC you are a RM as well! The fact you go solo & still make amazing docs is nothing short of FKN AWESOME BROTHER! Stay safe if you're still going into active theaters!

    Idk about the best in the world if anything was to be the best convention ifranty grunts is the USA marine. They've been around since 1775. We have a shit ton of combat knowledge from fighting a war to war to war since WW2. Few the proud is harder and smaller than the royal marines. We also have a ton of tech we use compared to them or anyone for that matter with a bunch of shit that nobody knows anything about it before the SOF community in being the ginnepigs of will it work is it worth is did your like it how did the stuff do and should be stay the route or cut the loses. I can honestly say ik about it since I was one of those ginnipigs on multiple occasions by being in a DA green-beret member. Shit MARSOC with 1st recon, raiders blow the the conventional marine out of the water. I've worked with both groups and others. The USA marines and royal marines are the two best light infrany grunts who's ever stepped foot on the battlefield. USA marines spend a mind bolloging amount of money for training and even on mock up training missions sometimes. Last thing is the amount of money we spend on the military with research and tech to Expensive for other countries and even the bigger countries whose military are good but don't have the same high end tech we have compared to the UK military and their troops. Ive worked again with both of them and to me USA marines were a bit better from the amount of money we spend on training and weapons. Our military budget averages around 500-800 billion dollars a year 😊.

    You cant win a conflict without the support of the local populace, America learned that in Mogadishu, they were welcomed at first but once they started killing innocent civilians the entire city turned on them. That's the difference in fighting a conventional uniform wearing army in war and fighting an insurgency.

  • @BucyKalman
    @BucyKalman Жыл бұрын

    Not the period covered in this film, but, between June 2006 and April 2007, a company-sized British force (about 120 people) had to hold on their own a run-down and poorly defended compound in the Sangin district (basically rudimentary fortifications consisting of foxholes dug round the perimeter and sandbags reinforcing the compound wall), while being surrounded by a much larger number of Taliban insurgents. Despite daily contacts (ranging at one point from five to six small arms or RPG attacks a day), they were able to hold the position and repulse all Taliban attacks (at the cost of 9 fatalities and several other non-lethal casualties), which is a proof of the high level of professionalism of the British army and a credit to their service. Ten months later, when the US parachute regiment, supported by Royal Marines, Canadian artillery, and US and Dutch fighter jets, finally decided to execute a relief operation to break the siege of Sangin, the Taliban simply fled the city and the 1,000 or so relief troops were met with little opposition from the insurgents. NATO conveniently gave the Taliban advance warning of the coming assault by dropping leaflets, and through the town elders, who were charged with spreading the word. That is emblematic of how the Taliban and the coalition commanders (basically Americans) conducted/approached this war.

    A heads up.. The US Green berets, wear their Green berets as a sign of respect and thanks, as they were 'stood up' by the British Commandos... Things long forgotten by the US... Delta was stood up by the SAS, and the SEAL's were also modelled roughly on the SBS, who are mostly made up of Bootnecks... These facts can all be acquired in any fine history book, or the annals of the Royal Marines. Mainly the reason the modern Bootneck has been spanned with these more infantry roles, is the Royal Navy holds on to them with all their might and tries to use them to gain publicity and help keep them as their only source of manliness... Navy's a bunch of slimy benders otherwise...

    Because of the 'public opinion'. Remember the Vietnam war and the outcry of the public around the world? It led to a lot changes in some countries. Most of the times current regimes/governments want to preserve their respective status. So politicians just fear to lose their power and therefor money if they order again an unpopular task like 'flatten this area' which will maybe also hit some unrelated civilians -- if there are any.
