Underrated keyboard, imo. I'm typing on it now, it's got everything I need; backlighting, wireless, Bluetooth, mechanical switches, hot-swap. I only wish the backlight color was a pure white and the media keys were separate from the function keys. Still, an insane value for a keyboard!

I bet if you changed the switches to ones that are clear/white then you’d get a pure white backlight.

hmm i got the rgb one so there's an option for a white backlight but i dunno if it's a bit bluish to you instead of pure white. The first models had only the blue ones I think. Mine has rgb.
Just got mine recently and it has RGB and it’s fully customizable!!

Is the RGB version is the latest?
Wish there was a 100% version. Currently there are very few hot-swap 100% keyboards with a media roller(I know only of EVGA z15 but there may be others)

been looking for a 96/90% board for a while now my DAS is finally giving out after 11 years! of use, RK96 is my first pick, looking for others
I liked your twist test. I remember doing something similar with an Amstrad keyboard which was as flimsy as hell and twisted far further. As for the size of the keyboard, how large are your hands? Or, how well does it work for someone with large hands?
nice video amazon is delivering mines today i like the backlight for when there is dim lighting
This video was the video that finally made me decide to purchase this keyboard after hours of research. I really don't like RGB, and buttons and keycaps are not that big of a deal for me. Thank you so much!

Same conclusion here going to get the apex 7 tkl with linear switches instead of this.
Great video. Quick question: is it possible to reassign the Fn to another key? Does the software allow you to do that?
You convinced me to buy it after I saw your review video. It's perfect for my setup. :D
Now they have RGB version for this model
I just bought this exact same keyboard but I added O rings to the underneath of the keycaps, I changed my keycaps and added a new mouse and a usb type c coiled cable
With the multiple connections, can you instantly switch between them? I have my work and home setups together, will this work similar to the MX Keys and Mechanical, where I can have the keyboard connected via 2.4 to one and BT to the other, and if you FN+ connection option it instantly switches to that input option? Or does it take a second to connect after switching to a different input mode (like when I switch it to BT, does it have to connect at that point to BT)? Thanks!
I got it but returned since i found not very user friendly the switch to change between the different connections methods. I finished getting the RK M75, it's smaller but the mini display and the knob to change between connections make it much better kb.
Hi Jack, I recently bought an RK96 just for typing because of the positive feel of the keys. But the keyboard does not deliver the symbols that are printed on the keys. Key 3 on top row does not deliver hash tag when shifted. In fact I can't find the hash tag anywhere on the keyboard. Also in an attempt to reprogram the 3 key I somehow managed to stop it even producing the number 3 and have to keep using the number pad. How does the program software work?
If you had to choose between this RK keyboard or the NZXT one, wich one would you pick? And why?
Not sure about the volume wheel being stiff to roll and no feedback, I just got mine and its very light to roll and has tactile feedback like a mouse scroll wheel. Surprisingly, the volume wheels is also made out of metal. Maybe they fixed it in the later versions?

They're fairly new, but have sick mechanical keyboard options
if i use wired mode, is the battery still drain and need to recharge? is there other 96 keys keyboard that is pure wired, no battery?
Can you switch the Mute button to Play/pause with the provided software?
How’s the palm rest working out for u?
I recently purchased this keyboard and was very pleased with it. However, I did notice that on my keyboard there is only a usbc port and the other 2 usb ports are just outlines and no actual hole. Why is that? Thanks!
The issue you have faced with the dongle is caused by USB 3.0 interference with 2.4GHZ devices. Just use a USB 2.0 if you have, if you don't something like the PC front USB slots would work. (I know its an old video, but might help people who face this issue)
Do you have an issue with bent wrist rest? Mine came bent straight from the box.
Can i still use the volume wheel while on wireless or bluetooth mode?
is this color like snow white? mine kinda looks a bit yellowish? or is that how they generally are lol
which one is good, rk98, rk96 or rk100
Does anyone here know if you can swap the switches out for RGB switches? Does the software recognize it?
How to disable the power save mode?
I was considering a Royal Kludge 96% keyboard earlier in the year but settled on a Keychron K4 that I refurbished myself instead, mainly because of higher build quality and ISO layout as I can't stand ANSI. It would be great if more manufacturers would create 96% keyboards as they take up marginally more space than a TKL but are far more functional. Royal Kludge make some great value boards though, hope to see more from them in the UK/EU markets.

Honestly I just wish someone would bring back the Quickfire TK size board with the arrow keys in the numpad and the extra key where zero is split into a zero (0) and double zero (00)

Yeah, i've got a US mini layout keyboard and really cant get on with it, particularly the enter key and lack of arrow keys. Probably okay if you are used to that layout, but 30 years of muscle memory just fights me.
I quite like the 96 Keys layout. I currently have a RK96 and a RK89 with silent red switches. And IDK which one is my favourite.🤣
from where can i get software
Just wish it had QMK/VIA support
RK96 sold in my country 6 month ago and they sell only RGB
I love this concept and layout, but I use a MacBook. Not a gamer, but I work full time form home running my business and I’m writing a couple books so. Having a nice keyboard is clutch, and I love the numpad for when I’m doing my accounting/finances each month! If anyone has recs that are similar that work for MacBook users, lmk ❤

This keyboard can switch to Mac mode using Function + S. The only thing that sucks is the legend in Windows. Another good option is the Keychron K4. It has a built in toggle to switch between Mac and Windows mode but doesn't come with a wrist rest or volume knob.
can the mute button be used to mute mic?

Anyone tried using this on Linux? Typically things like the screen and software aren't going to work or are going to be a pita to get working.
Luckily RK have now adjusted their pricing for this item, to where you thought it fitted into the market, and, as of spring 2024, they are available for a much more sensible £90.00. Phew, £65.00 was just unreasonably inexpensive.
The blue color is nice but if only it had rgb
The new model has RGB.....but I think one should learn how to type [proper] before caring about a keyboard ...... i noticed one finger typing
seems like 2.4ghz need LINE OF SIGHT. Strange isn't it ??
just purchase this keyboard and its already in rgb version.

agree. i own rk100 and k70 rgb mk2. for now i feel more comfortable with rk. more space and less cable. perfect.
The lack of rgb is the biggest pro. Finally a keyboard for adults working instead of a toy for kids.
'Available with both red, blue and brown switches' - why not more options such as heavier switches ? ALL the KB manufacturers offer the same BORING options :(
its not budget its just all the other keyboards went up in price by 70-260% over covid period for no reason other than sapping off of DIY enthusiasts who are forever cringe btw
The company must be going for irony, as "kludge" (pronounced in America like the word clue) has meant a hodgepodge of junk parts thrown together in the computer industry going back 35+ years.

almost as if they were intending to portray their brand as something like a diamond in the rough.
They have RGB for this model now.
