Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 - review after a few weeks

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video we review the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. Bry has had this bike for a few weeks at the time of filming this video, which we feel is a good enough time for her to get used to it and form a good honest opinion.

As someone who worked in marketing for BMW, Royal Enfield have nailed it by looking after the bike KZreadr influencers so well. It's marketing 101, full marks. Triumph could learn a thing or two. PS great bike

When the 1st REs showed up near me I was intrigued enough to look them over. I can say that I was impressed by the styling and quality. The 350 Meteor fit me well, even at 6' tall. Someday I may have give up my Harley due to age so I'm preparing myself.

The Young RE CEO when took over, it was a game changer for this company. Being a part of Rider Community himself across the US, UK, Japan and the Alps he has first hand experience of how & whom to Target first instead of Car sales like Business Approach. Once the regional riders give it a shot, and have satisfactory feedback at the relatively low price, buyers flock in. This is how RE kicked off sales in Japan for its Meteor & Classic in the 350 segment.

It is a well known brand. What is happening is that they are doing so great that are spreading in all those countries that they missed in the past and they are doing it very successfully. The price tag and design is a win win combo in my opinion. Drop by bro, you may like my content. :)

Great review! About 50 years ago I had a RE 500 Twin, 1952 model. It had been rebuilt by my late father who was a competition mechanic (built & prepped engines for Le Mans and rallies) and the top speed went from around 70 mph to over 100! It had reverse cone megaphones and sounded glorious, had loads of grunt even at low revs - I really would have liked a front disc brake though! It handled really well - as noted by my footrest rubbers being worn away from fast cornering. Happy days.

Same as you, I really grew to love the heel-toe shifter in the meteor and the relaxed feeling of riding with it. So when I put money down for a Super Meteor the first thing I did was order one from India. They are not very expensive so I think it's really worth getting one. Though it's slightly annoying that in India they sell the Super Meteors with heel-toe shifters from factory, but they install regular ones for the bikes destined for the European market. The heel-toe shifter also has the added benefit of not causing wear to the top of your riding boots. In the past I've had to either repair or throw away perfectly good boots because I wore them down so much from upshifting that I ended up developing a hole. Good motorbike boots are pricy so in that sense, at least for me, in the long term it will also work out cheaper to get the heel-toe shifter installed.

I have the celestial blue model with the screen and backrest. At 6 foot I find the bike extremely comfortable, I wasn't a cruiser guy until I sat on one of these at the Scottish Bike Show earlier this year. Below 60 I find the screen useful, over that speed I get some buffeting in my face. Fine with a full face or flip front but it's a pain when I have the open face helmet on. I don't need the backrest but it comes in handy for strapping a bag to. Compliments my Classic 500 beautifully. A good overall initial review of the bike. Hope you have it a bit longer so you can give a longer term view of how it is for anyone not sure if it's suitable for them. I'm a big fan already.

I've wanted to test ride one since I first saw it. Thank you for doing such a great review from a rider's point of view. I needed that. No one is talking about the fact that, being a touring bike, it is not a belt drive. My INT650 was chain drive but I tour full time and the have chain, clean, lube, and adjust every 1,000km/620mi which for me can easily having to stop for chain service twice or three times a week. I can do 600 miles in a day on occasion. No one has paid attention to the service schedule on the Super Meteor. They have cut the scheduled service on the chain in half. Maybe they are using a different chain manufacture which is not as reliable? They chain service interval is 500km/310mi. That a two tank day for me which means on the Super Meteor I would have to constantly carry cans of cleaner and lube and rags to service my chain at the end of each day. If you are touring with your touring bike you would like it to be service free for 3,000 miles, not 310 miles. But thank you so much for your review. I think this will be my next bike as soon as they or someone else comes up with a Belt Drive conversion kit like I did on my INT650. 34,000 miles now with no mess on my wheel or saddlebag and no servicing. Plus, a Sportster guy just told me his belt lasted 100,000 miles. A chain won't do that.

As usual a really good review from Bri as usual. Howeve I don't like that cruser styling particularly the rear end, I much prefer traditional styling. Regarding a screen, yes they're very good for someone small like you but not if you're tall. Then they just deflect the wind straight into your face and make riding at speed unpleasant over a long distance. I found that my Bandit, an excellent bike, was particularly a bad example of this.

The motorcycle is really nice. But precisely because of the position of the feet, I think that the Royal Enfield GT 650 would Seem a better choice ( for my liking of course) Over all, the Royal Enfield bikes are great 👍 especially if you want a bike that can cruise... And for me, 47 horses is plenty to enjoy the road... I've personally seen a motorcycle mechanic take the GT 650 with "Pirelli Diablo tyes" on the Twisties. He blew my mind!! Don't let thinner tyres fool you, this guy was leaning using the end of the tyres, simply amazing how this bike performed on those roads!! In the near future, I may get the Royal Enfield GT 650, seems like the perfect bike for my needs😊 Thx for the review and helpful information Safe riding ✌️

Just wasn’t right for me - pros; cheap for a new bike, looks smart; ergos good for tall riders; useful fuel range; cons: weedy power, quiet and not much soul, suspension jarring, service costs and intervals are wallet draining. Not for me for the commute but good for a Sunday afternoon blast! Good review, lots of hype over this bike but my suggestion is do a test ride before you believe the hype 🤟

Young lady I salute you...or rather I tip my hat to you, I have been riding mostly Custom/Cruiser/Bobber style bikes for 32 years and a wind screen on a bike like yours or mine which is the same style but a different brand is horrible, it really hurts the eyes. My philosophy is if you ride cruisers DO NOT put wind screens on them, it defeats the entire purpose of a cruiser.

Rider's Height and Inseam Length would be useful . Small Rider makes bike look bigger . Big / Tall Riders make bike look smaller . If rider does not want to disclose numbers , have them walk by reference objects , like a Fire Hydrant .

This isn't here in the US yet. It really specs out well, and it's gorgeous, but those legs forward controls are too HD for me. Rumor has it that they may mount them back more for this market. I hope so.

Please put your toes on the foot pegs not the heels. This will make your ride much more stable and saver. Don't worry, it will not effect emergency braking timing in a negative way. This was one of the first things I have been taught in an advanced rider course. If you don't believe, just have a look where the Moto GP riders have their feet positioned.

For some reason we can't get any of them in U.S.A. There are all of the others available. Rumor had it, would be here in of Summer. But the dealer says they know nothing :(

Style of this bike is good but pegs are forward which means the Interceptor is the one I buy - center foot pegs & foot controls. Absolutely do not like that headlight on this bike or this type headlight on any bikes. Sealed beam Glass Quartz is the way to go.They give you the (right colors) at night & are plenty bright. Love the tool kit thing, great idea.

If I could afford to own two bikes this would be one of them...but it's jusy too impractical to be my daily rider... otherwise, it looks absolutely brilliant to ride.

Maybe not yet but the Enfield usually has very good aftermarket and accessory support plus easy to tinker with yourself if you are into that sort of thing.

Late last year I bought a Guzzi V7 850 Stone as a second bike to knock around on for area rides and I absolutely love it! Admittedly, I didn't try the RE 650s, but that was primarily because the Stone seemed a bit better value to me with it's shaft drive, significantly more power, and because I was able to get one in the color I loved for not that much more than a 650 RE. Plus I love they're built in Italy and I'm fortunate enough to live near one of their top dealers who are great to work with. All that said though, from what I've seen and read about RE the last few years I wouldn't hesitate to suggest to both new and experienced riders I know to check them out. I think they're great looking bikes and the Super Meteor seems to have a nice throaty exhaust note for stock.
