Having ridden just about everything over the last 50 years, for me, there is always an incomparable magic to a very basic motorcycle such as this... Forget quick shifters with blippers & TFT's etc, get the wind in your face & feel all the bumps. I absolutely love it!❤
As a QA Engineering specialists, I can say that RE has improved with every product they make, the process and the Parts Per Million rejects have improved, this is the same approach the Automotive industry took in the 80s and 90s and today we see this with more products. Honda and Husky do it best , still think this needs a modern spoke rim to finish it off😊. Cheers from Oz 🇦🇺

They are an interesting mix. Well designed and generally well built but being a budget brand there will be corners cut. I've got a Scram and got through a chain in 4,000 miles. I'm not complaining because I've simply replaced it with a better one. Likewise I replaced items such as the mirrors and bash plate with better quality items. I think you just have to buy with open eyes and accept that you might be spending a bit on aftermarket parts to fettle the bike a bit better.

@@markellott5620 The engine is the best build part in every re bike....
In my opinion, the best looking of the RE 350s. Makes me want to own one.
Freddie Dobbs, Mark Pulling and Old Man & Mr Darcy all absolutely love the RE 350. The Classic seems the best model. Interestingly, my neighbour has £250k worth of bikes in his garage(s) - Harleys, Multistradas, GS', Ninja H2, FJs, KTMs, etc - and the two bikes he's always on are the Fantic Caballero Rally and RE 350. That's a clue there....
Glad to see the quick and dirty review is back again 👍👍 very nice looking/sounding machine.
Best looking bike yet. Absolute bargain as well. Interesting to note your comments about quality being even better than other 350s, 411s, 650s. Sounds really pleasant. PROPER ! ❤😊
I like what R E have done, three very different bikes but using the same engine and gearbox. The Meteor and the Classic are "gentlemen's" bikes one traditional, one less so, and the Hunter for a younger demographic. Good marketing strategy.

Yes all the major manufacturers are doing it - makes sense doesn’t it…
For what it is, it looks like a fun bike and very good looking too. There is also that joy in fully using all the smaller engines have got to give. Thanks for the peek Andy.
Really love this bike. I'd like one. Great quick review.
I was convinced I was going to buy one of these in November, but in the end I couldn't bring myself to do it when I don't love any of the paint options. The white one was most attractive to me but the big 'PURE' and 'RIDE' decals on the tank are a step too far. I expect they don't mind in India where they're mainly sold, but it does have some weird chastity connotations over here. I'm still hoping they release some new colours this year

I agree, the paintjob is trying too hard to be relevant and fashionable. Hopefully the next iteration will have a more traditional take with pinstriping and a proper badge.
Can't wait for your in depth, bike looks great in my eyes, just hope it has a bit more pep the other 350's in their stable have.
Fab review, mines on order in this colour, as my second bike for shorter dirty day rides ❤ thanks Mr Fly x

Nice review TMF. I saw a new one of these the other day & it looked nice although on closer inspection I was uncertain about how the finish would hold up.
I'm currently shopping for an Indian Sport Chief but there's something about this little bike that makes me want to own one as well.

Looking forward to the in depth review on this one. As you say, Andy, they do look really good. At 6ft 1in and 97kg, it might be a bit small for me, so, let’s see what you think on that point. But, you’ve hit the nail on the head - it’s about what bikes make you feel, not the ‘top trumps’ of the spec sheet. 👍

Thanks for this good review Sir. I bought the Classic 350 here in Thailand and the price was right at $4000. The Hunter is a great knock around bike but I chose the Classic because I love the chrome spoke wheels and exhaust with chrome touches on the engine. The Classic is a bit louder than the Hunter, and it is the most classic looking of RE bikes.........Sal : )

Thanks Mr. Flyer. Idn whether this bike is particularly lovely or that the "retro style" is starting to get into my head lol. I have a sneaking suspicion that these (type) of machines are waiting for many of us at the tail end of our biking life, if not sooner. Congratulations to RE and wishing them continued success in the future. :>)
Nice looking wee bike TMF and sounds nice with standard exhaust .👍
Looks like a motorcycle should look. Sounds good as well. Glad the quality has improved. They certainly had room for leaps and bounds of improvement. It will be interesting if that carries on through the rest of the models. centerstand, tubless tires, horn, oil change, chain adjusters, hardware battery tool kit, controls, steering, swingarm bearings, things I'm interested in
Hiya. I've got my DAC later this year and I'm hoping to get a Classic 350 or the Meteor. This one looks great too though, and I expect performance will obviously be very similar. It's still so amusing to me to see you going along 'my roads' - through Kingshill and down the hill towards Gt Mis then along Rignall Rd towards Chequers, I know them all so well as I'm in Holmer Green. I'll look out for your full review. Cheers.

Another great looking bike from RE, you can see they improve build quality with each new model. In my eyes they make proper looking motorbikes and the smaller engine bikes are full sized physically and I really like that. Laughed at the Rev limiter test, read the manual for speeds in gears, no, just bounce it off the limiter, this is true public service 😊😊
I like this set up, the first thing that draws you into any vehicle is that first feeling you get
Very nearly bought one of these in this colour. Looks amazing and so cheap. Unfortunately, I wanted the versatility of a larger capacity bike and ended up with a Triumph t120 which I love

Nice little bike. Good to see a review of a small engined thumper within it’s context too. Nothing more frustrating than reviewers talking about how it’s not as fast as the 650 etc etc. Really growing on me the Enfields, just need them to make a bigger one! I’ve been waiting on you to review this machine. Possible mini speed twin ?? It might be responsible for selling my Honda mini bikes. Pending your up coming reviews. Great work. 👍
Nice going Andy. Nice looking basic bike, perhaps lacking a bit in every department; however, if you have a restricted budget, may be a choice and if you have an unrestricted budget, it can be a second bike. P.s. the jacket looks very nice, fitting to the retro look. Greetings from Berlin,Jim
Royal Enfield are really hitting the mark with their bikes. Especially in these cash strapped times. I see a lot of the old Brit bike boys out on the 350s, as they are light and easy to start, thus extending their riding careers. Conversely I also see new riders on them as they are cheap and easy to ride and hone skills on.

I bought my Scram just before the Hunter was released. I definitely would have considered this if it had been available.
It’s a lovely looking, classically designed modern motorcycle. It is very easy to compare it with a bike like a Bonneville. It only really loses out in total performance and bling. In every other department (price, weight, usability, cost of ownership) it’s a winner.

Agreed…..
I was much intrigued when I first saw RE were producing this bike. A foray into an era of motorcycling a bit beyond the brand name and definitely into the territory of the Japanese era classics. Brave move indeed and I suppose they should be applauded for it. After all, more choice can only be a good thing. On the other hand. It does tend to show up the basic limitations of what is ostensibly an outdated design. The inescapable fact is that, although the bike is fine for a gentle trundle about, it soon becomes annoying when you get stuck in traffic with little or no hope of overtaking a pensioner in a Honda Jazz. How do I know? Because, until recently I owned a Classic 350. Nothing wrong with the bike in itself, well made and very pleasant to ride, just a little frustrating. As such I would strongly suggest any prospective purchasers take that into consideration. Just my unsolicited opinion. PS. for the avoidance of doubt. I'm no boy racer but very nearly a pensioner myself. (though the way the government keep moving to goal posts, I may never become one)🤐

That's my reservation, it feels very nice on a short test ride, but will it become a burden after a year or two? Would be an expensive mistake to make
Love to add one to the stable. The price and size make it very doable and my whopping 4.5 mile ride to and from work this would be perfect for plus the myriad back roads here in the sticks of Ct. like that color too. Would slot in nicely next to my 68 cb350 also blue and white. A lovely couple
I looked at the Hunter and the Classic but in the end bought the Benelli Imperial 400. The RE's are excellent but i just preferred the looks of the Benelli and its got a bit more cruising speed , if speed is the right word :))))
Great show as always, thanks a lot. I think the name HNTR 350 is a reply to the Honda H'NESS 350 which came out only weeks before the RE. Sadly only on Asian markets. So I think the HNTR is a great commuter, probably a better one than these toylike Hondas (Dax, Monkey, Grom).

How does it happen , same with bikes , buying the fastest , most powerful, top brands , doesn’t feel as satisfying as it used to , this week I started my 23 year old jialing trailblazer 125 , not used for 6 year , started 3rd kick and rode 40 miles that nite , simple ,easy , fun , it was one of the first Chinese bikes to make it over here , think Honda xl 125 , it’s had zero maintenance , I’ve changed the oil once , India and Chinese are going to take over the small to middle weight market 🏍🏍👍👍
RE are making some really gorgeous looking bikes lately. Shame it's a slow 350 but phwoar!

It's a cracking bike. If you're looking for a retro bike for the style and to enjoy a ride out without tearing up the tarmac then this takes a bit of beating.
