Great...but it needs a smaller engine | Royal Enfield Hunter 350 (2023)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Modern cafe racers are more about style, pedigree and heritage than out-and-out speed. And if we're talking about style and pedigree, there aren't many that can hold a candle to Royal Enfield. Enter the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
It doesn't matter that this bike makes less than 20hp from its 350cc engine. It doesn't matter that it only revs to about 7,000RPM. What matters is how drop-dead gorgeous it looks.
The only problem is that it's not quite the right bike for Malaysia.

    A smaller engine? Enfield's 350 is very gentle. If you need something even smaller, I would suggest you ride a bicycle.

    He literally said smaller engine because of licence restrictions. Learn to listen instead of trying to be edgy.

    Probably wouldn't be too hard to do a 250 version of that engine but I don't think RE would have the volume production to make the production changes worthwhile.

    Just brought about 3 months. Luckily this bike for my wife first bike. It's a bike for beginners and women. But it's quite heavy for ladies bikers. Definitely enjoy riding in traffic route. On highway. Sure termenung sikit. For me. I rather go other bike event for 1st bike. Why I say so. Some people they don't have B full. Price tag bit high. Build quality just on par. Not really good. Not really barai. Current milage is 4+++km. Waiting for 2nd service at repj.

    Your filtering had me biting my nails ! I’ve never seen anything like that in Canada. For my use I would like a 500cc single cylinder engine. The nearest big city is two hours away at 110 kmh and I’m not convinced that a 350cc motorcycle could do that comfortably.

    These bikes are not built for this purpose. Its a city commuter and will remain a city bike. What you may need is a Royal Enfield 500cc classic or similar. I own one.

    @@sreyanshuchaterjee3962 ….. yes. That is why I am a little impatiently waiting for the Scram 450 or a Hunter 450 to make its way to Canada. If I lived in a city I would have a 350cc Hunter in a heartbeat, I think that for city traffic it would be ideal.

    Man, here in indonesia i bought this bike almost double the original price about 109ish million IDR or around 6800 something USD due to 250++ cc bike taxes, while in india i heard them sells it around 50 to 60 million IDR or 3700 USD, but still I've no regret whatsoever, i like the fuel efficiency, torque, modern retro design, its basic feature (means less maintenance for a lazy guy like me 😂) ergonomics for daily commuting and at least less heat on my nuts 😅

    Isnt the Hunter more of a Roadster than a cafe Racer ? I mean if you see the GT650 its more of a cafe racer with large tank aggressive ergos and clip on handl bars

  • @motomento

    @motomento

    GT650 is in a different class. I’d say their small CC roadster should be the Meteor 350. The Hunter is the closest to the cafe racer style in their entry lineup. But if you wanna argue semantics like is it a true cafe racer without clip ons? is it more of a tracker since it has handlebars? Then that’s up for debate.

    Has to do with our motorcycle licences here in Malaysia. The more common B2 tops out at 250cc. Anything more will require an upgraded licence which is way more expensive. Which makes the 350cc 20hp engine kind of a neither here nor there.

    Yeah i really like the looks of this RE but here in the US, I'd probably want something that can at very least hit 80 or 90 without much fuss. Not that I need to go fast but I think that is needed on the interstates. People speed and drive very recklessly. However, if I don't plan on riding on interstate much, then yeah I'm sure I'd love this RE. I want something I can ride from MS gulf coast to New Orleans. I could take hwy 90 and that would work with the RE. Currently I'm looking at Ninja 400 and Yamaha MT-3, although I'd really like a Harley or something that looks like a Harley.

    I think its because of their signature j series engines .. 350 500 cc .. and there will b no 250 or 150 for these otherwise they have to make short stroke engines .. currently their upcoming 450 series will b short to medium stroke engine
