The Hawker 125 / Dominie (series 2 ) in the film with registration XS -731 was delivered to the RAF on 1st January 1966. I worked on the HS 125 for years . Fantastic aircraft 😎😎😎

Goodness, this takes me back... First time I flew into Malta was in a 114 Argosy, on route to Nicosia, back in '63. Happy days!
I have now seen several of these "RAF promotion film's" from the 60's and 70's and cannot praise these fantastic films enough. RAF and presumably the then Air Ministry has really had a lucky hand in the selection of this professional film team who know their stuff. No redundant comments - just various features that vividly tell what RAF is doing around the world. A time capsule of a bygone era.

Lots of fake "radio" for exposition though. It really sounds cheesy.

The radio chatter is embarrassing to the RAF. Why on earth would the film makers use some old fuddy duddy ex prep school voice to represent the great RAF. Regards from North Carolina.
VC-10 is a gorgeous aircraft… the time when UK was still the empire and built its own aircrafts

The first poster sadly can't any more
Got that early James bond feel to it, very nostalgic
The Speys that were fitted didn't give the performance they promised.........
I served 84 until 96 and they were the best days of my life. There were some serious parts that werent very good but overall it was a great time. There was still a 1950s attitude and it was great.
The Phantom is beautiful. End of...
Love the glossy paint on the C130 . We modellers often use to much "weathering" on our models .

The grey and greens used in later years did weather considerably

Assume times of peace gloss paint easier to keep aircraft clean. WW2 footage of Spitfires, often very reflective, must have used gloss paint and of course dope on Hurricanes..
Absolutely brilliant, thank you for posting.

all this money spent on Defence and all you needed was a Rubber Dinghy to start the subversion / invasion without a shot being fired. enjoyed the show.

I don't believe the Rolls Royce engines in the Phantoms were a great success. This was a time when the RAF still had a reasonably sized number of aircraft.
Wot? No diversity ? Hahahahaha.
If this was shot nowadays, raf must have employed QE ll to look after the drunk in greek islands
Fresh air groundcrew? Really?
20 miles up ..?
Those officers look like pratts with their bucket hats on the tarmac.
