That's the part that seriously ticked me off about Virgil's post match interview: "...we want to win every game, especially playing with a team like that." The arrogance is just beyond me. The brother has 1 Premier League title... Last year Man United beat serial PL winners in controversial fashion, but none of those players disrespected us like that.

Roy's got a point here, I can understand VVD's disappointment at dropping points but instead of deflecting his teams inadequacies he should have said something like"we need to be more clinical if we want to win". A captain doesn't hide from criticising his own players, Roy understands this.

I get his point but every time he gets annoyed with a Liverpool player be it current or ex, he always reverts back to the club winning 1 league trophy in 30 years narrative which i don’t get; what has VVD got to do with that? He came and ended the streak so why is it still 30 years not 4/5 (since 2019), it’s a new era and his history isn’t of 30 years but the 5/6 years he’s been at the club

Is that fair to say or does it make more sense to say 3 in 10 for example? Judge the players on their current history

Since Klopp arrived Liverpool haven't yet broken down a low block team. I'm a Liverpool supporter but at times I wish Klopp would be more adventurous with his tactics. This Liverpool side is quite different from last season so although there may have been some complacency some lads should have given more as it's their first game in PL experiencing England's biggest rivalry. Much of the blame has to go down on the management. Even at half time the players should have been reminded what type of game this is. You can say Liverpool were arrogant I reckon Liverpool genuinely snuggled to open up United defence because they always struggle against low blocks and it's something that needs addressing.

Van Dijk was clearly frustrated with how Liverpool bottled it today when they should have comfortably won. But Keane's right, he should have only spoke about Liverpool's shortcomings instead of having a cheap snidey dig at Utd, it's not our fault you fluffed your lines. We know we're crap at the moment and doing our best to not get beaten by better teams right now so yeah, we're pretty pleased with taking a point at Anfield after getting battered so often there lately. VVD and the rest of the Liverpool squad should focus on themselves as they won't keep up with Arsenal if they carry on playing like they did today

How so? ManU spent the majority of the match in the own half. Whenever Liverpool created a chance, you'd see at least 7 of United's men in their own box at all times. Just seemed to me like their entire plan wasn't to win the game, but to just stop Liverpool from scoring. As VVD said; they weren't there to win, and I can understand why that can be frustrating for a team who needed that win to remain at the top of the table.

I knew it would be no demolition. The ManU defense has been good this season. Without Bruno, they have a painfully unreliable offense. So ETH did the obvious thing and parked the bus. ​@@cockywatchman1976 No Keane was spot on. VVD needs to blame the absolutely embarrassing finishing by the Liverpool players for not getting a win at home against essentially a United B team. Trent booting the ball out and losing possession 34 times, VVD missing a free header from 6 yards, Salah shooting from ridiculous angles. Instead of moaning that United played on the back foot defensively, whilest having 8 first team players missing, VVD needs to look at how poor Liverpool were.

Love Roy but i think emotions got the best of him here, im pretty sure he’s said worse after matches we all do. United were happy to get the draw and had no intention of matching Liverpool like all the top managers do, they weren’t brave enough in their approach

As a Liverpool fan, I have to agree with Roy. There is no need for VVD to get carried away by dissing MU as such. What goes around comes around

What i don't get with VVD is that Liverpool did the same with that 2-2 draw to West Brom. Then he criticised United for it. I wouldn't if he forgot 😂

Big result for a struggling United (as I expected them to lose based on recent past results). Going to a place where they got hammered 7-0 last year and come back with a point is a massive result. Liverpool had so many chances to finish off United but they never really troubled Onana other than 1 or 2 great saves. I am not saying that United is on the up as they need to get a good run otherwise this result is a waste. But good to see United not getting beaten at Liverpool's turf.

Keane would literally have the same attitude 15 year ago. Keano being a sook about VVD being a sook is just a sookfest. (Keano never said fair play) As far as Onano making great saves, total nonsense. If I was a Manure fan I'd be frustrated by the fact that Onano has an obsession with making straight forwars saves look spectacular. ie. VVD's header that went straight at him which led to an over dramatic save when it was a simple tap over for a pro keeper.

I thought United actually went for it in the end more than I would have expected. They genuinely tried to get a winner.

United knew that their only best approach to get a good result than previours years against Liverpool , they would need to play it this way. Sturridge made a valid point. He was emphasising on the frustration that Liverpool went through that it was disappointing to get a result based on their dominance in the game.

​@stephenalex4345 United literally had 1 big chance to get a goal, while we had like 4-5. They parked the bus from the beginning and it made it difficult for us to score. United never planned on winning and it's clear. I can admit we didn't play well, but our forwards were out of form and it needs desperate improving. We'll be back.

@@brandonnel69054-5…. I don’t know what game you were watching. I remember us having one with diaz but outside of that there weren’t really any more clear cut chances for me. We were really quite poor. Endo was our only decent performance out of the midfield and forwards

Spot on Roy and I’m a Liverpool fan even in big games you respect the opposition I also like how Close the prem is right now and much better for it wish the referees would stop taking the headlines though

The onus was on Liverpool to find a way to win the game. Everybody knows that Utd are currently way off from winning league titles. Liverpool were considered strong favourites going into the game. It shouldn't be about how Utd performed or how they were set up etc, the game finished 0 Vs 0 because Liverpool could not find a way to score goals and win the game. That's all down to Liverpool and NOT Utd. ⚽🤔🕺

United defended very well. Varane and Dalot especially. Stopped a lot of efforts from Liverpool. Credit where credit is due - non-existent attack (like all season) from United but they did defend well.

I know we had to rest players in the mid-week game, but it did seem to affect the performance last night. We looked rusty and void of any “ideas” in the final third. United executed their game plan well. Is it easier to concentrate on “just” defending, possibly, especially for a team like United, but it was up to Liverpool to find answers and we didn’t.

Utd delighted with a point and Roy is also delighted with it. Should look a bit happier and stop giving out.

VdV could talk about the inability of Liverpool central defenders to head the ball in front of goal. And inability of front three to pick the obvious pass.

Roy did better than i would do handling sturridge. Sturridge’s poonts goes from being too mellow and not making sense, to screaming over roy when he has a valid point.

I get what Roy's saying. Van Dijk needs to be talking about his own team and how they couldn't score or make a difference in the game. He doesn't have to mention United at all in his post match interview because it was Liverpool's game to win and everyone knew that.

He mentioned both, in his post match interview. He specifically talks about how they should’ve done better. He just pointed out that man United came to defend first. Everyone’s being a bit precious. Roy would’ve made plenty of those interviews after a match over his career.

I'm Liverpool, but he has a point. Liverpool never took their chances. Very poor up front yesterday.. Their one chance was better than any of Liverpools ten. But as usual, thank God for Alison. So we could have lost 1-0 and that would have been a great game plan for Man U who are struggling of late. Did Man Utd play like that against Man City where 9 of the same players played against them and got beat 3-0. As a Liverpool fan, I find it frustrating when a team plays to win against our rivals but plays to only draw against us. We lost titles because teams flip their approach just for us.

Really feel for Sturidge here. He does well just to let Keane have his say. Always thought he seemed far too clever and kind for footy.
