Hey I’m having a problem. I do these combos and follow step by step, fast falling, Short hopping, etc, but in the combo counter it doesn’t appear as a combo. Did you do anything to make it combo or just trying over and over? I buffer the moves so they come out as fast as possible, but it still won’t combo.

@@kanesekai650 Don't take this as a certainty but, I've heard lots of pro players say the combo counter isn't always right and that sometimes things are true even when it says they aren't. Either that or maybe you haven't gotten to that optimal execution level and if that's the case just practice more and you'll get it. (never play roy btw so, I don't have any real insight into it)

ChiodosBlowsDogs now that I think about it, it may just be the fix to the combo counter they made in a certain patch. Maybe they weren’t true but it was saying they were, or vice versa. Anyways, thank you for your help!

Dude, after watching this video and getting down some of these combos and confirms, i went from being 3 stocked by my friends, to 3 stocking my friends, this is the most useful and straightforward roy video I've seen and its helped so much

Dude, I had the same sort of level up when I learned and practiced Terry a lot. My buddy is a Samus main and he was always 2-3 stocking me in 5 stock matches now I'm routinely 2-3 stocking him. I feel like Roy's screams add knockback.

What if Roy has a turbo mode without turbo mode

For anyone struggling getting the bair in the second combo to sweet spot: if you're not hitting the sweetspot it means you're not doing a full momentum jump. Hold jump as you land from the uair and flick the left stick back to get the right momentum!

marth doesnt have much kill confirms as it stands because they took away his smash 4 jab, but he has a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of tech setups that can convert into a kill, but thats if u read the tech or react fast enough.

i need more practice……

1:16 d- did you just do a true combo..? that kills at 25..? midstage..? With absolutely no special conditions required..? all my friends insult me for maining shulk because they say he's busted (even though I've been playing shulk before ultimate and xenoblade is one of my favorite games, I'm not teirwhoreing, I love the character) yet they recommend that I play Roy... I don't think they know why I haven't attempted to play Roy yet...

Bro this is SUPER educational, as Roy main myself I've been struggling with Kill confirms and Kill setups, this just gives me the perfect idea to what to do, of course, I won't just do this always step by step, but this gives me a good enough base to learn from. If I perform better next tournament I go in, I will absolutely thank you for it. Godspeed!

@@NeonRein11 On the ground press jump and attack at the same time so it automatically does a short hop for you and brings out the attack as soon as possible. In mid air while you're in an aerial for example, you can already hold jump and attack while you are still in the aerial and then it will perform the buffered aerial as soon as possible after the current aerial.

Anyone know if d-throw to short hop nair still combos in training mode? I'm buffering nair but the combo meter doesn't seem to recognize it as a 3 hit combo.

Might not register as true but Level 9 cpu with stale moves and lots of shuffling can’t get out unless they have frame 1 invincible option I believe

If you press jump and attack at the same time, you’ll do a buffered short-hop aerial that will hit much easier. Pressing the jump button very quickly (less than 3 frames) or pressing two jump buttons at once will also short hop, and then you can attack whenever you need to depending on the combo.

For the second combo at 0:13 I can't do Nair after doing bair, any help? plz?

the timing is very strict, but try to buffer the nair during the bair, and make sure it's a full hop

It might depend on the weight of the character, some of these combos wont work on characters who fly just a bit too far away on the first hit

Landing with the first hit of nair into fsmash is a simple kill confirm. 1:06 in the video

I mean, yeah, it looks cool. But why practice these combos when you can just mash Side B instead?

He’s got sour and sweet spots on all of his attacks. You may be missing a reverse tipper here and there.

it's very DI dependent, but for no DI and DI away, you should run forward, then flick the stick back and get a RAR bair out, while on DI in try and do a quick turnaround

Steven Michaud Not 100% sure of this is reliable or faster than just RARing but you can also try attack cancelling out of a tilt and doing an IRA (Instant Reverse Aerial) to have the bair come out almost immediately after jabbing. It involves a little bit of tech and is somewhat complicated but overall isn’t too hard of an input. MySmashCorner made a really informative video on it if you want to learn how to pull it off.

Hi, just a question, did they nerf roy? Because i'm able to perform some of the combos but the damage given isnt matching with yours (there is a 6% difference), and I dont know if its me but some combos dont work (i'm talking about uair>bair>nair>jab) so I wonder if anything happened

He has stale moves turned on. That’s why; in training mode the damage is the average damage of moves unless you turn on stale moves.

How can you make a Roy combo video and not do jab to back air? :/
