@pcelayes Yes, the vibraphone has a foot pedal to deaden the sound when you want, and it also has a motor that spins disks inside the pipes beneath the keys that can be adjusted to whatever speed vibrato you want. I play vibes in jazz band. They sound amazing!

You might be thinking of a good friend of mine who just sadly to say, passed away earlier this year, Billy Wooten from Indianapolis (he was originally from New York and was a part of Grant Green's band before going out on his own). He was a great talent as is Roy Ayers. The vibes man, are great to hear when played right!

That's Dwight Gassaway, who sadly died a few years ago. Guitarist Zachary Breaux is no longer with us either, and the drummer Dennis Davis passed away just this year. I was due to see Roy play here in England back in April (would have been the first time for me, and the fulfillment of a long-held ambition) but due to Dennis' being ill he had to cancel. Fortunately, Roy is still playing when he can and I believe he is back out there on the road again - you can't keep a good man down for long!
