Bryan Ferry's voice still melts me! Even after all these years. He could be singing a grocery list & I'd be reduced to a puddle. Yeah! 😍😻

I remember buying this album back in 74 and it still sounds as great as when i first listened to it. Psalm is brilliant and so is this live version. Always loved Roxy, they were so unique... Never to be repeated.
This one took a long time to grow on me, I had the album when it first came out but did not care for this song back then. I tended to like their fast paced songs only back then. This is now one of my favorites of theirs. My taste in music has matured as I've gotten older.
Completely out of this world yet still there in your soul body and mind. Sheer genius

There is so much rubbish written about artists and records being underrated. Who, listening to this, has underrated it?
@regretto

@@johnenglish929 answering your question: the public, obviously. songs' destiny is usually defined by so many factors of the industry. contemporaries often fail to recognise a great song. i would give two examples that i like from bowies catalogue: man who sold the world and moonage daydream. the former was an obscure forgotten number elevated by cobains mtv unplugged performance and is now considered one of bowies finest songs. the latter was initially considered just one the ziggys fine louder rockers, never was released as a single, but 50 years after release, being vastly covered, appearing in numerous soundtracks, it has become the second most popular song on the album after starman. i think that psalm is incredible and deserves more recognition. hopefully this will happen as it did with mother of pearl. but who knows. take care! cheers from Russia!

The band, the myth, the legend
Slick as oil, unique as a diamond. Thank you Roxy Music for your brilliance ❤.
You can just hear the gospel church choir singing this on a hot sultry Mississippi summer Sunday morning.
With the talented influencial Eddie Jobson. Probably Roxy Music's most haunting spiritual song. You can easily lose yourself in this and a spliff. I did in 74! 😋
Impossible to imagine anyone coming up with something as bizarrely brilliant and original as this today.

Crazy to think. I’m 32 discovers it one night when I was 20. I can never articulate how much it means to me, so I won’t try. Here’s to 50 years more of people being able to discover and find themselves in this great art.
I am just amazed at the talent of this band. I love rediscovering them every now and then.
Für mich der beste und schönste Musiker. Er hat mich mit seiner Stimme und seiner Ausstrahlung und mit seinen Texten durch mein Leben begleitet. ❤
Saw them at the Rainbow Theatre in London 1974, just before Eno left…stunning and unique performance ✨
Ich war damals 12 Jahre alt und schon in Roxy Music verliebt! Was für ein geiler Song!
Funny when he first came on and said here's another one and laughed 😅 and being in like in a pub on a Saturday nite 😅..just love him

On all the first 4 albums together there are not more than 2, 3 not so good pieces. They are all so good that it is hard to say which is the best. But there are some songs that stick out far above, and If There is Something is one of them. The emotional way he sung at this time was utter brilliance. But I love also the bass and the drums. Gorgeous.
It's extraordinary music and I had the great pleasure of watching RM live back in the 70s in Liverpool, Manchester & London; priceless memories; takes me right back when we were young!
Psalm, Just Like You and Mother of Pearl are my favourite tracks from Stranded. Pure perfection.

This is the first time I've heard/seen this, as I only got into music/hi-fi perhaps 5 years later & am now hungry to fill the void of what I'd previously been ignorant of. Bryan is my all-time favourite artist. He exudes class and is uniquely talented/creative & for years, has respected/enjoyed his fellow musicians by letting them take centre stage to showcase their amazing talents. 👍❤

This is the very first song that he wrote, but never quite finish until the ‘Stranded’ album.
This is decidedly better than the album version. A bit more uptempo which really makes a difference. Has a quite a bit more funk and shake and fun to it.
Bryan Ferry was so good and fine, I respected him when I was very young. - jon fishe
Andy MacKay did improve over the years. He’s actually a great musician. This performance might not be the best example. Maybe the mix was too much on the sax. But what a great moment captured.

Sickly to be frank
This runs 8 plus minutes and it isn't long enough. Killer groove. Most bands could base a career on this one here. RM tosses it off as album filler, if you will. To have seen them in the early 70's....
To the one who humbles himself before The Lord much will be given. And what was Bryan Ferry given? Whell, when the likes of David Bowie was ever trembling at the release of Ferry's latest recording, as far as the art is concerned, that pretty much sums it up.
