'The signs in the sky won't let up' reminds me of the excellent movie 'Take Shelter' which I believe was Michael Shannon's finest performance. The actor of a generation.

Behind all the biting lines there must have been a person or persons that good Rowly is criticizing. My thought goes to them, idiots, not artists, not anyone that one would pay attention to except as items of modern scorn, let alone pay them money and give them a job, those prey of the democratic age and its "feelings" of overfed carnality that is too irritable and can tolerate nothing short of the whole world of desire served on a stupid plate decorated by big-city neon lights. Oh, but I DID cry by the songs,though. Could it be I am so vain that I think they are about me, or "my sort of people"? (I didn't know we had become a demographic, by the way). Reply if you wish. Let's start a conversation and not be "wayward men". Or is it too late? Please explain.

Its been done before because they all idolize artists the originals such as rowland s howard, nick cave, ny dolls, and v.u. imitation is a form of flattery.
