That is the nicest router table top I have ever seen! Wish I could get those kind of results just using plywood and melamine.

Joe Walters Thanks Joe! The Dowelmax router lift is pretty cool. It makes bit changes & adjustments a breeze. Next big project will be the hanging tool cabinet. Have a couple of small projects too. Weekend build is a great idea. I will email you on that soon.

Do you get shavings and/or sawdust in your top 2 drawers even with the dust collection?

Nice build boys! I have a second hand router station similar to the cabinet style, but that's where the similarities end. The way the whole top lifts is amazing, like going under the hood to check the oil. I noticed there is no gasket around the perimeter of the top. Will that interfere with the suction of the collection system?

  • @Woodcraftedworkshop

CrossGrain Wood Products,LTD Thanks Dolly! The lift factor of the table is pretty cool. The dust collection question will be answered soon. We are still waiting for the final components to arrive. Once they do we will put the stand to the test and see if there is going to be a dust collection issue. If we loose any suction we could probably add some weather stripping to the top to help the problem. Thanks for watching!

Thanks, I was expecting a brand name and / or reference model so I can order it by Amazon. Is it perhaps a Formica or melamine tape, I presume. Don't worry, I'll find this out. Thanks again and have a nice day

Thanks for the video. Now that you have had the setup for a while, any additional comments on it? I am in the market for my first router table and am wondering about this system vs. something like the Master Lift products. Thanks!

Thanks for another great lesson in woodworking. I was wondering what was the reason for combining dowels with pocket screws? Was it so that you didn't need to clamp the pieces and/or added strength. I have both myself and am interested in your opinion on when to use one over the other or combined. Cheers Howard Dove

Thanks Howard! I used the pocket holes so i wouldn't need clamps on glue up. Both together make a rock solid joint.

Pete Gonzalez Thanks! Sorry I don't have a plan for the cabinet...we built it on the fly. We built the cabinet to fit the router lift. You can purchase the router lift from www.dowelmax.com . The router table top & fence can be purchased at www.amazon.com . We used two 4' x 8' sheets of maple plywood to build the cabinet. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Where do I get a table top like that?

  • @Woodcraftedworkshop

Douglas Brimer The table top is made by Kreg. You can find the all day long on Amazon for around $175.00. I searched around for the best price and purchased mine on Ebay for $135.00 with free shipping. So it pays to shop around. The router fence system is also made by Kreg and sold separately for around $180.00. The router table lift is sold by Dowelmax and is available at www.dowelmax.com for around $150.00. Hope this helped you. Thanks for watching!
