I made this router sled for under $40, and it can be made in a day. This sled uses gantry motion, which gives the benefits of expensive router sleds. This sled is easy to maintain and will store easily in a small woodworking shop. Anyone can make this sled. Using melamine is great for prototyping, but I recommend moving to plywood or hardwood when you get a chance.

I bought the angle iron at a local place called "Metal by the Foot." They cut an 8 foot piece in half for me for $0.75.
I do not suggest using metal dryer vent hose, I just needed a little extension and that is what I had on hand. Buy the good stuff.
Dust Collection Hose if you need some. This is not included in the cost to build the router sled. Your dust collection may be different than mine.
