Rounding and Order of Operations Used in Significant Figures
We'll cover all the significant figure rules, how to round sig figs, and how to solve chemistry questions that mix math operations together. This is a great review of order of operations (PEMDAS) and how math is used in Chemistry.

Dear Melissa - As a current college student with ADHD, It was extremely difficult to grasp Chemistry at such a fast pace. I failed, having to retake the course again, and fell into a very bad headspace. But when I discovered your videos, I could finally understand each concept.. all for free! (This is too good to be true)! I can't thank you enough. Your videos motivate me during the most challenging times, and I am finally excited to learn again. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. Never stop teaching! Thank you, always ♥!
Thank you Melissa your videos are helpful may God bless you abundantly.

I haven't taken chemistry since high school, 37 years ago! (I know, they only had answering machine and beepers back then). Put my big girl panties on and taking chemistry at my local community college. You can imagine how rusty my math is! Love how you break things down so plainly. And, I adore your brand, friendly color scheme. Where can we find the answers to your Chemistry Checklist? I completed the problems but don't know if they are right.

OMG! THANK YOU! GOD BLESS YOU!
You, the best 💖.. Thank you so much ❤😊. A very perfect explanations evertime.
I've heard that in chemistry if the digit to the right of the last number you want to keep is a five you are supposed to round up if it's odd and leave it alone if it's even. For example, if I was told to round 2.5 to 1 sig fig, it would be 2, not 3 because 2 is even. Is that true?
In actual order of operations it doesn't matter if you do Multiplication first or division first, You should still come to the same answer. This also applies to Addition and subtraction. which is why some people say BEDMAS, while others say PEMDAS. It's the same result. You can flip the order around and still get the same outcome, but this only applies to MD or DM being in the middle and AS or SA being last. What I'm trying to say about the MD and AS is that those don't have to go from left to right although we are very consistently reminded in this video that it must go left to right when really it doesn't. it's Brackets, Exponents, M or D (If M was chosen you do D next and vise versa), A or S (If A was chosen you do S next and vise versa).
Heaven sent thanks sooo much!!!
underrated u will conquer the world one day
THANK YOU!!!!!
Awesome🎉

So pemdas works in every situation except every situation? Great lol.
Are these Sig Fig rules just something you memorize? They don’t seem logical to me.
